Very easy build, and very soothing. I love how to the bonsai tree looks, it makes a great center piece or just something on a counter. It’s not really for playing with it’s more for show but I will definitely be purchasing the rest of the collection!

Overall, an amazing set! Beautiful on display not to mention pink frogs! I do have one big problem though, the instructions are really difficult to understand all the dark brown pieces make it really hard to see where things go in some steps, also step 70 when you’re building the green foliage for the tree is really convoluted, it would’ve been easier if they made it so you put the small leaves and buds on in the previous steps (61-69). Overall though, it’s an amazing set and definitely worth the money!

This build was really fun and turned out gorgeous. I couldn't choose between the cherry blossoms (those frogs are just too cute!) And the greenery so I combined them. The platform and base of the build was really nice and has given me some ideas for other builds. But the trunk of the tree was so fragile and finicky that it kept collapsing. There's just too few points of contact in several places for the shape and the top heavy design. It made it super frustrating to build, and honestly I don't think switching out the leaves as the design intended would be possible without the whole thing coming apart. I'm happy with it, and not mad I bought it, but it's my least favorite of the botanical sets that I've built so far for this reason.

The unexpected shapes in the design are so fun. My 11 year old enjoyed putting this together. It took her longer to put together than traditional lego sets for kids but she enjoyed the challenge. She loves the fact that she can change out the leaves for the season or her mood. Perfect gift!

This is a beautiful set that is hindered greatly by the build experience. The included print instructions are essentially useless, as the black, dark brown, and light brown all look the same. This results in dark, hard to see blob images that are next to impossible to decipher what piece/color piece goes where. I eventually became so frustrated that I tossed the print instructions aside in exchange for digital ones that I could up the contrast of on my iPad. The green leaf placement section of the instructions are nothing less than lazy, as they essentially show a finished image of the build with a couple of arrows pointing towards the leaf elements to be placed. In addition, the quantities of certain build sections are highly confusing and would have benefited greatly from some instructions that were more improved upon, even in the slightest. Overall, this is a great set, a beautiful display piece, but it’s enjoyment is periodically stalled by the lazy, and at numerous times, hard to decipher instructions. With the overall quality I’ve come to expect from LEGO, these instruction shortcomings were quite disappointing and surprisingly, took away from my enjoyment of the build.

I bought this for Christmas in 2021 and though my boyfriend built it without me he found it to be a very good way to spend Christmas. It took him about two hours, about an hour of which was spent on the leaves (in the pink variant; there are many of them with tedious pieces). 10/10 would gift again and makes a great gift for young adults. Also works incredibly well to decorate a small nook or bookshelf.

This was absolutely the worst build I have ever attempted. It was fine until I got to building the blossoms. I soon as I tried putting them on the top half of the trunk would fall off. I tried several times to no avail. I kept the platform but threw everything else away. Frustration set in & I don't need that. I have a house full of LEGO. Especially the Diner, etc. I just feel like this was a poor build. Too fragile. This just may be the last LEGO I ever build.

I've always loved seeing lego sets on tv or in store growing up, but unfortunately was never able to purchase any. this is the first lego set i have ever put together and im hoping it won't be the last. i was expecting it to be difficult to put together, but i finished it in only a couple hours. i chose to the the cherry blossom version. i think the "worst" part of putting this together was the blossoms themselves, but only because there were 100 pink frogs for me to put on the tree. it wasn't even bad, it just took some time. the instructions were easy to follow and it was well worth the money.

I also like that you can change up the look of the tree anytime you want to. The versatility of this LEGO Bonsai Tree build is amazing and quite colorful. It's also uses several elements made from a plant-based plastic, produced using sustainably sourced sugarcane. Who doesn't like something that is manufactured to be earth friendly. Great job LEGO!!!!
