Easy to use

Just bought this and have used it two times. So far, the suction is GREAT! My last sweeper seemed to just push the pet hair around on the rug. This Shark got it all and I am very pleased. The down side, the rotating nozzel attachment doesn't seem to sit will on the vaccuum, and there is no small, round horse hair brush attachment which I had to buy separately; the crevace tool is shorter and has a larger opening than I like, and the vacuum has tipped over a few times while using the hose with attachments.

I have had a Shark Rotator for a long time. A great machine. I recently gave it to a friend that really needed a vacuum. I ordered a new Shark and like many of these nice folks that have written reviews here, I am thoroughly disappointed. I thought the Company would have continued to build a new and better product. I was so excited when it arrived, only to find it was a disappointment. Please improve your machines and truly make cleaning easier for your customers.

Bought recently to replace a Hoover. Pros: 1) Swivel head, 2) Brush is kinder on wood floors, 3) Slightly lighter weight than previous vacuum Cons: 1) Model ZU55 is not listed on Shark website (as mentioned by someone else), 2) Brushroll attachment does not fit well in attachment holder and easily falls out, 3) Crevice tool attachment holder is a tight fit with the cord in the same location, 4) No regular dusting brush attachment (neither the manual nor the Shark website provide an item number for a it)

Definitely a downgrade from the Shark I need to replace. Only need to replace because I need a new brush, but it, as in most Sharks, are not replaceable, which saddens me as the one I have is awesome. Company said , my model has been discontinued. A person could definitely get a cheap vacuum for same quality. The suction is no where the same as my other model. It has a very annoying loud sound when vacuuming. Cord not as long. Very unsatisfied, will definitely return. If it could be a purchase for around $60, then maybe, but I have pets, so I need something with more power. Only one attachment fits on it too. This downgrade one costed just as much as the wonderful Shark vacuum I have had.

When the hose at the floor nozzle of our Shark stick-type vacuum finally gave out, after about 7-10 years of devoted service, I decided to replace it with another Shark. This time, I choose the ZU55 upright because it was loaded with features, has a larger dust collection cup, a hepa filter, and was available at a 22% discount at Sam's Club over Labor Day. I visited the store to check out the weight and size and I was impressed. The unit is certainly heavier than the stick, but feels about the same since all the weight is at the floor nozzle, and not in the hand unit. I got the unit home and tried it out, only one day after vacuuming with the stick. I was impressed how simple assembly was, and that everything snapped into place smoothly and firmly. On an oriental rug in the den, where the pup likes to hang, the unit pulled up an enormous amount of hair that the stick left behind! I love the weight and maneuverability of a stick-style unit, but this thing has much more power. Additionally, the Hepa filtration will really help with our allergies. The floor nozzle has a "swivel" like action, and while the debris cup gets in the way, the flat nozzle will get a few inches under furniture, when needed. The unit stands upright on its own. The new technology is amazing! This unit has terrific suction strength - comprable to any of our past, high-dollar, vacuums. I thought the adjustible suction was just a gimmick, but it makes a big difference when using it on carpet - turning down the suction strength makes it easier to move the unit, while craking it up on hard floors will help there. This package came with a turbine brush hand nozzle - which I hadn't expected! This makes vacuuming the stairs much simpler. I had three complaints: 1) The power cord attaches near the bottom, which gets in the way... BUT... they thought of that and attached a holder on the upright section to help control the cord. 2) The attachment holders are not designed for the included accessories - other components interfere with them fully seating in the holder, and they can easily fall off. [I discovered that my accessories from the stick model do fit the tubes on this upright.] And, 3) The sliding power switch seems to be the cheapest part of the unit; I am afraid to overuse it - and it should be near the handle where it would be simple to use, not on the body. I think this is the best bang-for-buck available, today, especially at the sale price!

I purchased it as a gift for my daughter. Since she didn't want to hurt my feelings, she didn't tell me that it hasn't worked properly since she received it. The hose is getting clogged between the vacuum head and the canister. Try clearing and can't get to it. Definitely a flaw in this model because I have purchased a Shark, different model, for myself and love it.

I've been a Shake vacuum user for quite a while. Usually I buy the more expensive versions, so this seemed like a good deal The cord is in a weird place. There's no light. There's a couple other little minor nit-pick things but I really didn't look at the feature set before I bought it Overall, it's a decent enough vacuum, like most Shark vacuums. Also, like most Shark vacuums there's always a little bit of an "uncanny valley" feeling with the choices of things like where the power button is at, or why the attachment holder only holds 2 attachments but comes with 3. Almost like the engineers read a book about vacuums and then designed it having never used it themselves I'll probably keep buying sharks, but only until I find a better vacuum. But I won't buy a low end version like this again. But it's also fine, since this was a 2nd vacuum for our less frequently used upstairs.

It harder to manipulate than my last vacuum. It cleans great though.

This is the third Shark I have purchased. The best vacuum for the money on the market.
