The bad - I bought this on Sam's markdown since I have been looking at Sharks to replace my 2008 Dyson. I see some criticism of Dyson here, and maybe their newer products are not as high quality as mine, but this Shark is completely outclassed. The cord length wasn't listed, but it's only 25'. My Dyson cord is 35'! That is a huge difference, and for me it means not being able to vacuum the entire floor from one plug. The Shark can't reach. The hose is not as long as my Dyson and therefore cannot clean my entire stairwells without lifting the whole unit. The wand does not take standard accessories like the Dyson. Even my Amazon specials don't fit. The Shark only came with 2 accessories, one of which is a useless air powered pet hand vac, the other is the crevice tool. NEITHER TOOL fits on the left side tool storage. Terrible design. The tie. The Dyson has a brushroll switch to turn it off for hard floors. The Shark has a hardfloor setting that slows the brush. The good - I vacuumed my living room with the Shark and then again with the Dyson. The Dyson only picked up a small amount of dust and hair so Shark suction is good. The wand can be used without dropping the entire cord. The Dyson cord actually hooks to the wand which is poor design. The Shark wand can be used with the handle only making it very convenient for furniture and other small areas. The Dyson wand can release the hose, but the wand needs to be removed and it's troublesome. The Shark is far lighter and much more maneuverable than the Dyson. The Shark was much less expensive, although this is nowhere near the top of Sharks line. Bottom line. This is a good vac if your floorplan is less than 1,000 sqft and your stairs are less than a dozen steps. Also be aware of the lack of accessories and the special size needed.

Dec 24, 2024 -- I used my new Shark Rotator Anti-Allergen Pet Plus Vacuum with Self-Cleaning Brush Roll for the first time today. I purchased the Anti-Allergan Pet Plus Shark because I have long hair and sew a lot and my hair and threads get wrapped around my Dyson Ball vacuum roller and I have to use a box cutter to get them off the roller. My Dyson also didn't pick up threads well from my carpet. The Shark Pet Plus plus not only picked them up -- the roller was clean -- no hair or threads wrapped around it! That's the good news. I have owned three upright vacuums -- an Oreck, a Dyson Ball, and this Shark. The Oreck was the lightest, and easiest to operate, and picked up the threads from my carpet. The Dyson maneuvered the best, but like the Shark is much heavier than the Oreck was, and is cumbersome. I find myself having to physically lift the Shark to go from the hardwood floor to a low pile area rug. I am 80 years old and not a weakling, but having to lift the vacuum while bent over is not good for anyone's back. Both the Dyson and Shark do not go under a bed or furniture, without changing attachments. The Shark has a place to clip the cord so you don't run over it -- a good feature except the cord fell out of the clip repeatedly so the clip was useless. The Shark is powerful and picked up a lot of dirt, and it was so nice to see hair and threads in the dust bucket instead of wrapped around the roller. I find myself in a quandary -- It takes more of an effort to maneuver the Shark than the Dyson, which is harder on my back, but the Shark does a better job of picking up hair and threads. Right now I'm wishing I had kept my Oreck.

This vacuum is good and light

Shark vacs are the way to go. I had one for seven and a half years and it worked wonders, so I had to go out and buy another one. It’s excellent and if you have pets and they’re shedding the Shark vac gets it all up.

The best thing about this vacuum is that Sam’s club sells it, they stand behind the warranty and replace it when it breaks. There are 4 girls in our house so there is a lot of hair around and the vacuum does a great job picking it up off of the floor. The hair seems to put a lot of stress on the roller brush and the suction system itself. When the brush is cleaned it does a little better but eventually it will get to the point where it needs to be replaced. Sam’s club, without fail, has stood behind the warranty and replaced the vacuum. This has happened several times over the past 7 years and process still works. It’s the best deal for the money.

I wanted a new vacuum to replace my 10 year old Dyson without breaking the bank. This one looked as if it had a good foundation of features and the price was right. Pros: 5 year Warranty! ( add one year when purchased with Visa/MC it performs well with good vacuum power. Has the Hepa air filter Large clear collection compartment that’s easy to take in and off and easy to clean 2 attachments that are stored ON the vacuum Handle pulls out easily to become an extension for fans, stairs and crevices (2 onboard attachments included) Cons: I little bulky but lightweight, stores easily. NO light- I really like my vacuum to have a light to see dust and dog hair when vacuuming. Power cord is manually wound which isn’t that big a deal. Overall this is a good vacuum for well under $200. The 5 year warranty negates the few features I wish it had.

Item arrived damaged and Sams made return virtually impossible. Initial pickup arrived before unit had been revoked. Was told they would come back up to two more times. Never showed. Spent over a week trying to get them back to collect it with them suddenly unable to reach me on my phone they had successfully called previously making it impossible to arrange collection. Offered to take it back to store in frustration and they said not an option since collection had been set up. Clearly SAMs has a long way to go in the online shopping arena. For now they should stick with big box stores and I will stick with Amazon for online.

Great price but I'm not impressed by how loud it is how hard it is to push and that it leaves so much pet hair behind. I've had several models of the shark brand vacuums and this is the least impressive to me. My last one which is a zero m and 5 years old still picks up just as much hair from carpets as this one brand new. Thinking about cleaning it well and returning to put that $ towards a better model.

Works well. Because it's not a traditional brush roller, it is really loud, but I don't have to pull out hair from the roller so I'm good with that. I really wish there were LED lights on the front. I had a shark without lights and I loved it. When it died, I bought a Bissell. Hated it except for the fact that it had led lights on the front. Amazing! Now I'm coming back to shark because shark is better but this model unfortunately does not have LED. Some models do.. anyway I'm thinking of adding my own diy light strip. Still this vacuum is way better than my last (Bissell).

It almost embarrassing to say but when I used this vacuum, it was like I never vacuumed my rugs before. It pulled up so much dirt an dust that my other vacuum didn't, I was amazed and disgusted at the same time. I don't wear shoes in the house but would shampoo my rugs every 3-4 months and the water would be so dark but it was just from the dust my old vacuum wasn't picking up. This vacuum has not only been a huge difference from my old stick vacuum, it's still light and compact, manuvers easy, extremely powerful, great price, I love the attachments and functionality, and has made a huge improvement on my allergies. I don't have pets but I have long hair and it doesn't get wrapped around the roller brush like my old vacuum. I can't say enough good things about this device. I just hope it last forever.
