Must Have For the Serious Pizza Baker

We got our oven about a month ago and have several comments. First and foremost is if you are serious about your pizza you want this oven! Our household has been making scratch pizzas for over 30 years and with this oven we have made our best pizzas ever! Some observations/suggestions: We have had serious problems using the new peel to launch our pizzas, easy solution: use your wooden peel to launch and the long handed peel provided to retrieve your pizza. In the manual it is suggested you might start using the oven at a temperature less then 900. This should almost be a mandate. Our first use of the oven(of course at max temp) did not end pretty (however we did discover even heavily charred/burnt pizza still has a great flavor). Unless you have experience with high temps try starting at 600-650 and go up from there. Also I saw a comment from another user that the manual says you cannot store it outside so they bring it in after each use – in the manual we have no such statement is made. It does say to store it inside at the end of the season (page 36). Fortunately for us our pizza season does not end :) My next project is to bake a loaf of Italian bread. Also I think I may try putting a small amount of smoking wood in the cast iron griddle and place it on the stationary corner stones and see if I can get some smoke to the pizza. And did I say this oven is a must have if you are serious about pizzas?

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. One Quick Note: The storage instructions on Page 36 state: Always store the pizza oven indoors. The LP gas cylinder must be disconnected and store outdoors in a well-ventilated area. Covering the pizza oven will protect it from the effects of snow, rain, animals, and more, but it will not protect against moisture damage, condensation, and other corrosive agents. Store indoors when possible and for extended periods of time. Hope this clarifies, as we want you to get the most longevity as possible, and correct storage will help achieve that. A Great Upgrade from the Member's Mark 12 inch

I bought the non rotating 12 inch oven last year and wanted more room to work. I almost purchased the major brand 16 inch gas oven on Black Friday but $550 was still more than I wanted to pay. This oven is perfect for my families' needs, has more accessories than the major brand (the included cast iron pan and wood tray is $35 on another shopping website), and can't be beat for the price/quality. Be advised it's not really as portable as the 12 inch oven and if you are looking for an oven to camp or tailgate with I would recommend the 12.

Best for the money.

Cooked 4 pizzas so far. Will heat up oven/stone to 800+ and then back down to around 500. First pizzas were cooked in 60-90 seconds. Need to cook a little slower to get the crust better on the bottom. Probably 2 minutes or so.

Best features available anywhere near this price!

With the "U" shaped burner and rotating stone, this is the best bargain out there in my opinion. The Kooni is nise but short burner and no rotating stone creates a lot of turning-On sale this oven was by far the best thing out there. Mine had a defective ignition module but they sent me one right away. (was easy to light with a match in the meantime) Shipping was extremely reasonable for club members. This oven is AWESOME-I was about to go with another brand with a rotating stone but it was twice the price! If parts are gonna be readily available for this unit there should be no worries. It IS made in China so that's my only concern.

Very good oven with a couple of minor flaws

I have used this oven for several weeks and enjoy it. The oven is well constructed and the rotating pizza stone really helps the process. Every oven in this category should have a rotating stone. Oven temps get over 900 degrees and it can bake a pizza in 60s, but struggles to keep or regain that heat when you bake multiple pizzas. We got to the point where it took almost 5 mins in between pizzas for the stone to reheat back (with burners on high) to a good baking temp. PROS: Rotating stone (battery powered) Adjustable gas flame Good high temps (It will get over 900 degrees f) Nice accessories (peel, pizza cutter) CONS: The stone is slow to heat up back to a working temp after baking a pizza (really only an issue if you cook more than 2-3 pizzas) Storage is a hassle. It has a nice cover, but the owners manual says it cannot be stored outdoors, so we have to take it inside after each use. If you don't need to bake a lot of pizzas back to back, this oven is perfect. If there was a burner element dedicated to maintaining the stone temp, I'm sure the reheating issue would be resolved. Otherwise a very good oven.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We're so happy that you're enjoying the Member's Mark16" Rotating Pizza Oven! Your feedback regarding the pizza stone and storage requirements has been noted. Tip: Frozen pizzas work well in the Member's Mark 16" Pizza Oven. However, we use the term "frozen" loosely, because you will actually want to remove the pizza from the freezer and let it sit until it reaches room temperature. This will also ensure that the pizza stone temperature isn't dropping too much by throwing a frozen pizza on a hot stone, which could lead to cracking. Hope this helps!

Love the updated rotating model!

I am really happy with this product! The rotating feature makes this worth every penny. I have been on the hunt for a rotating pizza oven at a decent price point and this does not disappoint. If you are on the fence, you should buy it before it sells out - outdoor pizza season is coming fast.
