I purchased this generator in the event we have another power outage caused by tornadoes or snow storms in North Alabama. I purchased it because it is true- fuel capable which will give me multiple options to run given I run out of gas or propane. I also love the auto start and numerous outlets so I can plug in almost anything. I highly recommend this unit!

I bought this as a home backup system for winter storms. I recently did a test run hooking this generator up to the 30 amp transfer switch at my electric pole. It seamlessly ran my hvac/heater, well, lights, tv, two refrigerators, barn lights and a deep freeze.

Bought this as a whole house portable unit with low THD. Arrived in great condition. Appears to have been upgraded and now has an oil filter. I believe it is reusable. Have not had the opportunity to power the house yet but unit is well made and has run power tools. Electric start is efficient and have not had any issues to date. Quieter and runs smoother with no load than other generators I have tried. Love the tri-fuel. Only 4 stars at this point because I haven’t seen it perform under the intended circumstances. Will post additional reviews once I’ve powered the entire house.

I bought this after Hurricane Helene came through our County in SC and left the county without power. I have a Generac XP8000E that WOULD NOT start the .5 HP Shallow Well Pump. It was supposed to provide 30 amp service but the pump would not start. Running amperage is 8.5. This new pump installed July 2024 is an exact replacement for a pump that was 40+ yrs old and still running, but getting some age on it. Apparently, according to my pump guy I am not the first to experience this problem of a generator not living up to its rating. The fact this runs on Natural Gas was a huge plus as we have NG at our home. Once I get everything hooked up I intend to test it thoroughly. The Generac I can still use for my shop. This unit just looks and feel more well designed and built than the Generac.

Bought this a month ago getting ready for hurricane season. This unit started right up on propane the 1st try. Runs nice. Did the break in period with changing the oil every hour, wasnt many metal specks in the oil on the first change. I am a little ocd about oil changes. This generator is about as loud as others half its size. Other reviews on the next size down westinghouse generators show they can power most of the house, so this one should do even better. I'll update this review when i get more time on my unit. Very happy with my purchase.

I bought this generator a month ago for my camp and before I was able to get it to camp, my daughter's power was out for 6 days from a bad storm. It ran her whole house without a problem for 6 days straight. Awesome power, conveinience and peace of mind.

I just got this unit, and was pleased that this was in stock and it arrived pretty quickly. I appreciate all the detail that went into this unit, packaging etc. It came with hoses for both propane and natural gas. The intructions to put it together were simple. Did a ton of research and landed on the WGen11500TFc as striking the right balance of capacity, flexibility (multiple fuel sources) and low THD (prevent damage to sensitive electronics). Admittedly, I have only performed the initial 5-hour break in period, so it’s a small sample size. Time will tell if the unit is durable, but so far so good. While varying some light loads during the break-in period, the unit would barely blip, so you can definitely tell that it has huge capacity. I used propane, and it worked flawlessly. Love the fact that I have flexibility to use propane or gas (also supports natural gas). Kudos to Westinghouse for including all of the essential hoses and hookups for natural gas and propane, along with oil and everything you need to get up and running. The most work you need to do is put the wheels and rubber feet on, add oil, and you’re pretty much ready to go. Battery charger included as well. I have a 50 amp inlet, so this generator will give me close to full available capacity to power my house, including some of the larger power hungry appliances. The low THD was a must-have to avoid damaging my electronics, and I really appreciate that Westinghouse makes a number of portable generators that have THD, relative to other manufacturers. I would add that the generator, while heavy, is fairly easy to move and maneuver with the large wheels and handles. Another reason I preferred this generator was the size was much more manageable vs stepping up into the next tier. I wanted something with large capacity, but didn’t want to deal with manhandling a massive portable generator. If I had one gripe, some of the documentation included with the generator seems to be incorrect. On the included quick start/mechanical guide sheet it says the THD is 23%. I’ve seen other reviewers on Home Depot’s site comment on the THD being incorrect on the included documentation for this generator, so it seems to be a known issue. It just makes it confusing for a customer when the documentation is incorrect.

It arrived today and I was not impressed when it came on a pallet and was very heavy and I had to cut the box apart to remove it, and then find something to lift it to place the wheels and legs on it so I could move it. The appearance however looks great.

When I say this generator is an absolute powerhouse, I mean it. I got the 10500 watts to keep my home powered during hurricanes, and it hasn’t let me down. In my area, power outages after storms can last for days, but this generator gave me peace of mind when everything else went dark.
