Bought the generator as an upgrade for my small generator for emergency purposes. I have 3 kids, my mom and 2 dogs living with me and the Texas heat during power outages is not to mess with. I installed a generator hook-up with the interlock kit so I can have a back-up power in case of power outages and today I finally had a chance to use it! After doing the 5-6 hours long of break-in procedure, the generator showed it can handle my whole home with bogging down and hesitation even when the AC unit starts up. I was glad that I purchased this product and it exceeded my expectations!

I had to wait 4 months to place the order for this unit when it became available. I liked the features, especially the Natual Gas use, since my last generator was on our motor home that I connected to our previous home. As an electrician, I know what I needed to run my whole home as needed especially in North Carolina these days with climate problems we have as we experienced with Hugo in the 1980's where we were out of power for only a short time, but then I moved it to my parent's home where they were out for about 2 weeks. I think the portable generator is ideal for a much lower cost that the stationary generators which cost more than 3 times what I spent by DIY and 4 times getting professional help.

Did a ton of research and landed on the WGen11500TFc as striking the right balance of capacity, flexibility (multiple fuel sources) and low THD (prevent damage to sensitive electronics). Admittedly, I have only performed the initial 5-hour break in period, so it’s a small sample size. Time will tell if the unit is durable, but so far so good. While varying some light loads during the break-in period, the unit would barely blip, so you can definitely tell that it has huge capacity. I used propane, and it worked flawlessly. Love the fact that I have flexibility to use propane or gas (also supports natural gas). Kudos to Westinghouse for including all of the essential hoses and hookups for natural gas and propane, along with oil and everything you need to get up and running. The most work you need to do is put the wheels and rubber feet on, add oil, and you’re pretty much ready to go. Battery charger included as well. I have a 50 amp inlet, so this generator will give me close to full available capacity to power my house, including some of the larger power hungry appliances. The low THD was a must-have to avoid damaging my electronics, and I really appreciate that Westinghouse makes a number of portable generators that have THD, relative to other manufacturers. I would add that the generator, while heavy, is fairly easy to move and maneuver with the large wheels and handles. Another reason I preferred this generator was the size was much more manageable vs stepping up into the next tier. I wanted something with large capacity, but didn’t want to deal with manhandling a massive portable generator. If I had one gripe, some of the documentation included with the generator seems to be incorrect. On the included quick start/mechanical guide sheet it says the THD is 23%. I’ve seen other reviewers on Home Depot’s site comment on the THD being incorrect on the included documentation for this generator, so it seems to be a known issue. It just makes it confusing for a customer when the documentation is incorrect.

I bought Wgen11500 a few days ago. I was very surprised how easy it was to set it up and it started from a first run. Also, no special tools required because everything was provided. I planing to use it. I am planning to use it for emergency power shortages.

This generator is everything I was looking for. It should have plenty of power to power my entire house, yet is still moveable. In a weird way, I hope that I don't have to use it very often. When I need it it will be ready. Getting it set up was a breeze.

Great product and features with plenty of fuel capacity for long run times between refuel occasions. Generator is pretty quiet for its size and output capabilities. Love the option for 3 different fuel types during possible fuel shortages and power outages to help keep home power supply comforts.

Purchased this generator for home back up power. Minimal assembly required and instructions straight forward and clear. Fired it up and runs great. This generator seems to be very well built, and the tri-fuel feature is nice. Also, included is the battery, oil, trickle charger and even the tools needed for assembly. Very nice!!!

I've been looking at generators for some time after a storm and being without power for a few days. Having a well ment no water for drinking or using the toilet. I chose this Westinghouse generator because of it's high output, the option to use three different fuels, and because of it's high rating. Already having a natural gas line quick-connect for my grill, will make short work of getting this generator up and running.

This powerplant has all the power I was looking for. I'll be running it on propane. It has great reviews and was on budget. Hopefully I can do a follow-up review once my electrician installs a 50 amp inlet box and interlock switch for my panel. I would highly recommend this powerplant to my neighbors, family, and friends.

Bought this in aftermath of long power outage in Houston. Easy assembly and clear start up procedures. Quality build and components. Have only used it for couple of hours but looks promising. Not sure what I’ll use the remote start for but it’s an additional option. I would recommend it.
