What I like is the silent function compared to the previous generation of washer and dryer I used. To me, the smart functionality is halfbaked i.e. you get notifications but there is no useful feature yet that I would pay.

I purchased this dryer to replace our 17 year old LG dryer that was starting to wear out and not worth fixing. I love the new features and energy efficiency upgrade. It’s much quieter and great at removing all of the pet hair the washer missed. The steam feature is great for smoothing out the wrinkles on dress clothes before events.

We moved into a new house and had to replace all of the appliances. We chose to go with LG units for everything. This dryer had to be converted to propane but the Service Tech did it in a matter of mins. The unit works well. It is quiet and efficient. We are still learning about some of the advanced features but are impressed so far.

I bought this in July. Had the washer and dryer installed in September I believe. Since then the dryer wont dry all the way. Clothing is still damp. I also have an area that snags my clothing and damages it. I have since had it "repaired." The very first dry after the repair I have my dryer sheet stuck in the same exact spot. I assume it will only take time till another article of clothing gets caught in the same spot. I was also told to shut off the energy efficiency if I want my clothes to dry all the way. Why even have energy efficiency if it doesn't work?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Own this for a month now and ran 5 consecutive loads back to back and it cleaned everything easily even on cold wash. Haven't tried the steam or sanitize features yet. Everything is really easy to use and setup was a breeze. It takes the guess work out of laundry with these preset. The manual controls makes sense and the wifi feature is a bonus. Not really a selling point. The capacity is great too and can handle approximately one king size comforter/blanket and some smaller bedding but nothing more. I will say that it needs the pedestal or be placed on something though because it is not a very good height for taller or average height people. Having it on a pedestal makes it that much nicer but the additional cost is a bummer. Also making the black cost more than the white seems like a greedy move.

To this point, I’ve run the dryer on Normal, Delicates, Towels and Bedding, all with total and easy success. Note that I’m not a “power user;” i.e., I’ve not tried setting up connectivity with my smartphone, so I cannot comment on that. Our previous washer gave out after 20+ years, and since our old dryer was of the same age, we decided to buy a new dryer along with our new washer (LG WM4000HWA). The positive reviews for the LG DLGX4001W are quite compelling and I can see why. I’ve done our family’s laundry for 35+ years, and I really cannot imagine anyone being dissatisfied with this LG dryer.
