Good buy with full service install

Just got this dryer yesterday - 2 weeks earlier than Sam's projected delivery date when I ordered it. Delivery & install were great. The whole process ordering thru Sam's was much easier than other places I looked where everything costs extra. The only reason I didn't give this model 4 stars is that you can't change the heat level on most of the sensor dry options. So to dry my clothes on low heat as required, I have to choose either the delicate cycle or the manual timed dry. The makers of LG must not do their own laundry, or they would surely know that cleaning directions for most clothes these days - even jeans - are "tumble dry, low heat." I don't understand why they have made it impossible to adjust the heat levels on their preset cycles. On the positive side, the dryer is very quiet and easy to operate, for all of its complicated-looking controls. It didn't quite get all the towels dry on its first run, but it was easy enough to add a few more minutes to finish it off and I can make an adjustment next time. It did a great job with a load of sheets on the bedding cycle. I will see how it does with the load of jeans that is in there now. I had to use the speed dry (manual) cycle so I could set it to low heat, which meant I had to select the amount of time I thought it would need instead of using the sensor, like I could with my old unfancy dryer. It's still a good buy, I just wish the engineers would have taken real life into consideration with today's clothes.

Doesn't dry clothes

I have been using this dryer for a couple of months and should have returned it immediately. Not sure how it can be considered energy efficient when it needs to be run 2-4 times to get the clothes dry. Only cycle that seems to dry is timed one and I put the time up to an hour. Every other cycle clothes are still wet wen done.

#1 Worst Purchase Stopped Working After A Year

DO NOT buy this dryer. Ours stopped heating after just over a year and won't shut off if not unplugged. The #1 worst appliance we ever purchased. Repair person coming out to look at it. Also the sensor never worked, we always had to set it to a timed dry or the clothes were very damp. Wish I knew this before purchasing!!!!!!!!!!

Cannot adjust drying temperature in Automatic cycl

We have tried to use this dryer for a few months. We hate it because we cannot adjust the temperature settings with the Normal or Permanent Press cycles. Both cycles are set to medium temperature, which is TOO HIGH to use for synthetic material, exercise clothes, and many other common fabrics. This is the first dryer we have had in 40 years that does not allow adjustment of the temperature. It will ruin our clothes unless we dry everything on delicate cycle.

High Tech Simple

Nice looking overall design. The machine is easy to use and is very quiet. I love the tunes it plays at the end of the cycle. My only small con is it tends to leave the clothes a little less dry even though I use the proper setting. Looking forward to years of service. Thank you!

Hey there! Love to hear that you're enjoying the design, ease of use, and those cheerful cycle tunes! If your clothes are coming out a little less dry than expected, you might find that adjusting the spin speed or selecting a different dryness level could help. Don’t buy

We wanted to replace our old dryer because it took forever. We just bought this one and so far our clothes have been in there 2 hours and still not dry. Every time it’s goes down to like the last 6 minutes, the timer then goes up to 24 minutes again. After reading these reviews it seems that when a customer has not been satisfied it is because of this very same issue. So LG is fully aware of what faulty features or parts this has but does nothing. Replace these machines with ones that work…please. Everything is expensive now. We decided to invest in a new dryer so we could save money on our electric bill. But now we have a dryer that does not dry. I am so sad right now as I see the timer has added more time…again.

Lint Filter - Defective Design

DO NOT DRY ANYTHING with drawstrings. I've had 4 pair of joggers eaten by where the lint filter is attached to the dryer. There is a noticeable gap between the dryer and the frame of the lint filter holder where the aglet snags and doesn't get released. This generally results in a) the drawstring being twisted a good 50 times and b) other items in the dryer get tangled into a gordian knot. I would consider this a major design flaw. I wouldn't recommend this dryer to anyone.

So far so good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had our LG TRON front load washer and dryer for over 17 years, so when it was time to replace them (both still worked) we confidently chose another LG product. We like the top load washer so much more than the front load, simply because it's easier to load and unload. Super quiet. Time will tell, but I feel good about this one lasting another 17 plus years.
