Golf, Cycling, Yoga so far; happy with my purchase

I've had the watch for a couple weeks now. I've used it for Golf, Cycling, and Yoga so far. It works great. For golf, it automatically shows the distance to the green (front, middle, back); just what I want. And it can show the distance to hazards after a few clicks. After a round, you can see on a map exactly where each shot went. That's cool, but I don't expect it will help my game. For everyday use, I was able to select an alternate watch face to show time/date, heart rate, steps, and active minutes for the week. Again, this is what I'm interested in. It takes the watch 3 weeks before it can determine a baseline for heartrate variability, so I haven't seen the fullness of that feature yet, but I do like seeing the graph of nightly HRV on the connect app. Chis watch is a definite step up from my previous fitness tracker.

Great better than Apple Watch

Bought this watch to replace my Apple Watch which could not hold a charge more than 8 hours. This has pretty much the same features as Apple Watch and it does not require constant charging. It syncs with Strava and also with my Peloton. It has great features.

Not as good as I was hoping.

My FitBit died, and I thought I'd upgrade to something fancier, but this isn't it. At least once a week I get an alert that my watch isn't recording data and i have to reboot it and reconnect it, and then I get an email welcoming me to my new Garmin, when i've had it for 8 monhts. It doesn't record steps nearly as well as FitBit. Why do I have to tell it I'm walking? It hasn't been an upgrade for me at all.

LOVE the Vivoactive 5! It is perfect!

The display is beautiful. It's better Than Vivoactive 4 which I updated from. This Vivoactive 5 has a more thoughtful UI, more intuitive with some added new features. It is very fast and does have a very long batery life. The orchid color is soft and subtle. It can be used for dressing up or down. As expected, I can track lots of activities. The Connect app is amazing for a free app. Than you Garmin.

Has all of the essentials.

I originally had the Vivoactive 3, which I liked. I use it primarily to sync with my outdoor and indoor bike riding to include strength training and yoga. Oddly, I like the many selections for the actual face of the watch. I also like that it syncs with my IPhone and Garmin Connecs. I preferred to go with Fenix series, but they were too pricey. In fact, I waited for this one to go on sale. Overall, a solid watch for what I need.

Puts Other Fitness Tracking behind the game

As a prior Fitbit owner, I switched to Garmin, as I was tired of replacing Fitbit devices annually, and I believe Google will eliminate them and move people to their watch. I am looking to Garmin to fill my tracking needs, eliminate constant replacements, and provide more data. At this point, they have exceeded my expectations. They provide more information and add more features. It is double the price, but having to replace a Fitbit every year, this Garmin tracker has to make it two years, and I am ahead.

It's ok.

I've oowned the Vivoactive 3 & 4 and really liked them, especially the Vivoactive 4. I am a 76 year old female, very active, walking 15K to 20K steps every day. The problem I have with the Vivoactive 5 is the font size of the information.. Even set at the largest font size it's barely readable with my 76 year old eyes without using glasses. The Vivoactive 3 & 4 had individual readouts for steps, floors, heartbeat, etc. and was very easy to read without reading glasses. Also the Vivoactive 4 had "Floors" which I always used with the steps and I averaged 15+ floors everyday (I live in a mountain area). But, bottom line, the Vivoactive 5 is usable and is loaded with features I care nothing about with a readout that's marginal in font size but, it tracks steps well.

Great watch

I bought this watch about a month ago. I switched from an Apple Watch and I love the watch. If you are athletic or are prioritizing a fitness watch over smart watch then this watch is for you. Pro: sleep tracks, very accurate for running and cardio activities with stats tracking which is great. Cons: can’t reply to messages or make phone calls. Strength training activity isn’t as accurate as I would like.

I am loving the new features!

I bought this watch a couple weeks ago and so far I am loving it. I bought it to replace my venu sq that I had for a few years. The updated features are nice and very intuitive. I like the additional settings for sleep and coaching. I don't do as much running as I used to, so I use it for other workouts (strength training and yoga) it seems to work well with them. I also enjoy the costumizable faces.

Great watch

I have had the watch about a month so still trying to figure out all it is capable of. Love the look, it announced my mileage and pace every mile, screen easy to read and so much more. The one thing that I have noticed that is diff is that it deletes your run with no "are you sure you want to delete" so you need to be careful as the screen is touch and super sensitive. But overall, LOVE it so far!!!
