Would give this a zero rating if I could. This shelving unit is nothing but junk. DO NOT purchase this unit - or any muscle rack shelving. It was a nightmare to assemble and is unsafe. No structural integrity and we finally had to make the shelving 3 high instead of the pictured 6 high due to our extreme safety concern. It took a solid day and two people to finally get the storage racks assembled - and we are seasoned DIY people. Then, to make matters even worse, we realized 2 days after we purchased the shelving (purchased 2 units) that the product was placed in the incorrect place at Sam's club. We thought we paid $39.98 for each unit (that is what the sticker on the shelf where the boxes were located stated) only to find out that these no good, piece of junk, unsafe shelving units cost us $64.98 each. If we had known the price, we would have stopped trying to assemble these unsafe shelving units and immediately returned the units to Sam's club for a full refund. Now we are stuck with unsound and unsafe units and will NEVER purchase anything muscle rack again.

I made my purchase on samsclub.com for curbside pickup. They loaded it in my car within minutes of my arrival. Directions are very clear and it was super simple to put together. I did it alone in under an hour. I wish I could buy some extra cross bars & shelves.

I was hoping to save some money and get this one, don’t do it. Like others said it’s a 2 person job even to get it set up some what rigid. You’ll definitely need 2 people when connecting the upper part. Going to return it because the upper part when connect is so flimsy and so much play in the pieces that your going to have to rough up something just to get it to work and look some what nice. In comparison to a gladiator shelf with similar spec I was able to fully assemble it by myself with limited help except when I needed to move it.

Good price of $75 for 6 shelves. Purchased on june 2022. The shelves are indeed thin. Putting it together is indeed troublesome since it does need 2 people when building the top side. I'm not sure how it holds the top side securely but it manages to do that. Steel columns are thin compared to other racks I have built in the past from another brand I have bought two and they're holding up after 6 months for commercial restaurant environment. Holds sriracha boxes, mayo, spam, etc.

Trying to assemble this shelf is like playing wack a mole. The pins/rivets are way too loose, so every part keeps popping out when trying to setup the base. The metal is flimsy and folds, which adds to the frustration and trying to get the top part on (even on the ground) is extremely frustrating. I literally had every single piece pop out multiple times. I'm genuinely curious how this is even sold at Sam's. The 4 rack industrial shelf and stainless wire shelves are easy and sturdy to assemble, this monstrosity was not...moving it is also difficulty due to parts popping out and the flimsy gauge steel used. Save yourself some stress and avoid this rack. Hopefully Sam's will revise it in the future or discontinue it. I will never buy another one of these units again, it's just not worth the headache. I do not know if the 5 shelf model is as bad, but the 6 shelf is horrible.

Didn’t even get it all the way of of the box and all the shelves were cracked down the middle or smashed on the edges. Ordered 2 and sent 2 back then received the 2 replacements and they were also broke down the middle. Terrible quality thin shelves.

The corner post are .050" same as the one's I assembled many of years ago, but the shelf supports that used to be .050" is much thinner (almost half the thickness) .028". When the pins go into the groove there is 20 thousands + loose which makes the not stay at the bottom of the hole, like they used to. The pins easily bend on the thin metal and cannot be installed into the slot without taking pliers and straighten them out. I tried using self drilling sheet metal screws to screw them together and it worked somewhat. There is no way the rack will meet it rating like this especially if it's 6 shelves high. The second rack I assembled, I used (2) 5/16" SS washers at the end of each shelf brace held in place by double sided tape, and it makes a secure joint (if you don't loose the washers). The other thing I did was separate the rack into 2 racks each with (3) shelves. This is the second set of racks I have purchased from Sam's within the last two weeks and both were no good. I have purchased and put together many of these same racks years ago before they started building junk. I would not recommend these to anyone, save you time, money and effort they are not worth it. It took a box of 100 self drilling sheet metal screws and a box of 5/16" SS flat washers and two days to put 2 6-shelf racks together where I should have been done with both withing 4 hrs or less. Oh yea by the way the joint to put the top section to the bottom is a joke, don't even try it.

This is definitely NOT a heavy-duty shelving unit!! These shelves are so flimsy, we're afraid to put anything on them for fear the metal supporting brackets will bend or the entire unit will tip over. They wouldn't even stay together while we were assembling them because the posts would not lock into the tabs. We were unable to build them to the full height because we were not able to secure the 2 sections in a vertical manner. If I could have given zero stars, I would have.

We have purchased several of these units in the past. They were great. The new version that recently arrived at our local club are no where near the quality of the older versions. The metal is thin and easily bent and we were not able to successfully assemble a shelf as the shelf brackets would not remain in the locked position. I will be returning them.

I have built many different assembled shelving units over the decades. These are by FAR the worst design to assemble (specifically joining the uprights together). It takes more patience than logic to put these shelves together. Spend a little more and get something better to install.
