I bought this air conditioner last summer and it has been noisy from the start. It cools very well, so I have no complaints there but every option is super noisy including the fan. Maybe I have a similar defective one, but since I got the last one I couldn't exchange it.

I love how you can just control it from an app which makes it so much easier and nicer. I am thinking about replacing the two in my kids room so this brand once I am able to.

Would not recommend this air conditioner at all! Does not last! We bought this unit in May 2020 and used two seasons. Stored properly. We had a heat wave this weekend and went to install it and it doesn’t blow cold air. Tried cleaning the filters to no avail. The unit just won’t cool anymore leaving us to have to go out and have to buy another unit. Very disappointing after the money we spent on this Unit. Will not be purchasing another Midea product!

I bought one of these A/C units last year and was happy with it, so when I needed another this summer I went into the store to buy this same one. However when we installed it, I noticed it looked different from my previous one. It looked like it could’ve been an older model; the remote was larger and even looked outdated. That didn’t bother me at first. Once installed, the remote didn’t work at all and when it began to rain outside, the window unit began a high pitched humming and started spitting water into the room. The unit was installed correctly, I believe I got a faulty unit. I had no issues returning the unit about a week later and I appreciate Sam’s lenient return policy. However, I did not get another A/C from my Sam’s location because I didn’t trust that the stock on the floor weren’t outdated models they were trying to sell.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Midea SmartCool Window A/C was simple to build, easy to install, and the WiFi/voice controls are incredibly convenient to use. The unit quickly cooled down my 195sqft bedroom and kept it comfortable throughout the entire night, creating a tolerable sleeping environment on an otherwise hot evening. Unfortunately, the unit is very noisy when the fan kicks into high. This isn’t a deal breaker for my home, as my spouse and I are heavy sleepers, however it is certainly loud enough to wake someone that sleeps lightly.

I've never left a review in my life! But I feel that I should now. I purchased the Midea 8,000 BTU in a pinch for a tenant in one of my rental properties because the main HVAC system blew out. The rancher is about 1,100 sq ft. He was happy with the unit and it got him by in the heat of our 95 degree humid summer in Baltimore, MD. I was so happy that he was happy!! I took that unit when he was done with it and put it in my workshop which I absolutely love it out there now!! I just now ordered another one to use in our pool house. Super happy with it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Performance and capacity: I installed this 8000 BTU unit in a 110 square foot nursery. During a specific test with the door closed the app showed an 11° temperature drop in just 15 minutes. Under normal circumstance, we keep the door open, and the unit has enough power to cool the room while also helping to take the edge off the heat in the hallway. The app and controls: The app is really useful. We used it to monitor the initial temperature drop and we use it to set sleep schedules. Being able to preset the temperature for specific times at night is convenient for a nursery, and the energy usage tracking gives a clear look at what the unit is costing to run. Installation and old windows: If you're installing this in older wooden windows, the brackets and lock frames can be a bit confusing. The mounting points at the top edge of the unit where it hits the sash were key to getting it lined up. My windows are extremely old, which resulted in a significant Gap under the unit. The AC does include some foam to help seal gaps, but I suggest having extra adhesive foam on hand to ensure you get a completely airtight seal if your frames are uneven like mine. I would recommend this unit as I found it capable of cooling fast and the smart features add a level of control that makes managing a nursery temperature much easier it's a reliable choice if you need consistent cooling and want to track your efficiency

No sharp corners for curtains or shades to catch on, so that is appreciated. The installation was very easy, however, be aware someone or better yet, at least 2 people should install this in the window because it is very heavy. As far as performance, wow, it is powerful! The room temperature was 75, and decreased to 68, in about half hour (the size of the room will affect this as well). Much quicker than central air or portable air conditioners. This A/C also has smart technology built in, for example, it will remember the last settings and keep them when you turn it on again. Downloading the matching app was easy and adding the device was as simple as scanning the QR code. So one can use their phone or the remote to change the settings or turning it on/off. The filter is located in the front, easily accessible and can be washed! I highly recommend this air conditioner for its power and durability.

This AC doesn't cool my bedroom as expected. What I hate about it the most iA how loud this unitb is. My goodness! The fan is way too loud. Am always worried that in case of emergency, I can't hear from my room. It drowns everything out. I really wish I had spent a couple more bucks and bought GE. We have GE in our living room and that unit is efficient and definitely not as loud as this one. Highly disappointed. Don't buy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our first time owning a window AC unit. We actually live in a brand new build and our upstairs does not have individual temp control. In the winter it’s SO cold, and summer SO hot. It’s been such a huge disappointment for us, but this definitely is something that’s going to make a huge improvement for us. This is a very heavy product and you can tell it’s made well. It has a variety of settings which I appreciate because sometimes you just need a little Airflow and sometimes you need that full blast. It’s also super quiet, we have 3 toddlers and quiet fans are totally fine but anything loud will really disturb them. We are so happy with this product and it’s improved our comfort in our home so much.
