This is used in my sons bedroom and cools it perfectly , I have two upstairs for two bedrooms, a den, and a bathroom and they have cooled the entire upstairs off great. I’m in Pennsylvania and on our 90 days my upstairs was still very comfortable. The ECO button works with the temperature outside. It will not run if you have it set at higher temperature than what it is outside!! My electric bill has not been crazy high since I purchased these. I am so glad I invested in new ones !

Fan stopped working just after 2 months. Bought this unit based on Consumer Reports review. In so much that it cooled the room, a fan should not fail after 2 months of limited use. Will be returning to Sam's and changing to a more proven company reputation.

I bought this unit because I liked the look, features and price. I installed the unit and turned it on. It made a horrible screeching sound. Sounded like a screeching bird. After a few minutes the sound quit. However, every time the compressor would kick on to cool the screeching would start again. I bought it for a average bedroom. It did not cool the room more than a few degrees running for hours. I'm taking it back to Sam's today. Would not reccomend this unit.

I have been using the Midea air conditioner for a month. Pros - Works as expected, the unit keeps my bedroom cool. I do like the sleep feature on the remote and unit, which turns the unit on/off automatically as needed. Cons - I do not like the size of the remote. The remote is very thin and small and hard to navigate in the dark, would be nice if the remote lit up.

First let me say my room was blazing hot hard to sleep at night, sweating at the slightest movement. I could not take it anymore so i purchased this window unit because fan were not the answer! I order online and picked up at store let me tell you it works wonders for my room now air so cold and has a bunch of settings and a remote can’t go wrong with that, i sleep great now i literally have to sleep with socks on and get under 2 blankets. It will cool off a decent sized room quickly just turn it on and let it do its job! Came with all the accessories you need so you do not have to buy anything extra. So if you’re thinking about picking up this AC dont hesitate its great if you’re on a budge or just need to get the job done. Its works great

This is kind of a tough review to write because in terms of its most basic functionality -- cooling the room -- it works well. But the mounting is so spectacularly horrid that I had to pull not one, but two stars. The bottom of the air-conditioner has no track to or lip firmly fit into the window sill and secure the air conditioner. Instead they provide a bag of clips and screws that require you to drill holes into your wooden or vinyl-clad windows. Seriously? If you live in a house with 100-year-old oak windows, you have to drill holes in them to mount an air conditioner? Without the clips, however, the air conditioner slips off the sill and falls inward on the bottom because there's no ridge to grab the sill; and the vertical mounting bracket is mounted offset to lean the air conditioner outward for drainage. The more sensible way to do it would have been to make the bottom exterior surface slightly sloped to channel the water out so the air conditioner itself could be mounted perpendicularly to the window. Another option would have been to include stops that could be attached to the bottom of the unit and used in lieu of a lower track, with rows of pre-drilled, pre-threaded holes. Insert the stops in the appropriate holes, and you'd be golden without having to drill into your woodwork. It's really a shame because in terms of cooling, the air conditioner works well. The controls are sensible and once you turn off the Eco setting, it holds the temperature quite nicely. It's a bit on the loud side, but that doesn't bother me. All things considered, I have to reluctantly recommend against this air conditioner. The mounting system is so horrid that many people simply won't use the brackets, which will create a danger of the air conditioner falling out of the window. With a more sensible mounting bracket, I would have given it five stars.

If you want a simple "set this in the window and go" installation, don't buy this unit. Installation actually calls for at least 7 spots to be screwed in place. The accordion sashes on the side are poorly designed, with no grooves on the bottom so they sit inside the window frame (thus requires 4 screws inside and 2 outside to get it to fit). I refuse to put all of those holes in my window frame, so we used ALL of the weather stripping supplied plus some of our own and I can still see spots of daylight from outside - VERY frustrating. Next, we will be trying velcro and duct tape! We only use a window unit seasonally, I'm not looking for a permanent fixture. Unless this is fabulous at energy saving cooling, I expect we will be returning it.
