Everything arrived in good condition. We were very curious so we opened the diced potatoes. They were surprisingly good. The only reason for the 4 star rating is because the servings are not individually packaged, but at half the price of other similar products I can overlook that.

Received my kit today. Opened it up and had lots of badly dented cans. Some boxes were mishandled by the carrier and they taped them up. Oddly those boxes did not have dented cans. The boxes that were in "good shape" had the dented cans. Augason farms needs to put spacers in between their cans and use a heavier grade box like a competitor of theirs. This could reduce the damage to the cans. I have not attempted to get them replaced as I do not think it would be worth the time or aggrevation.

There are actually 15 boxes, not 14, though one box contained only one can and the wheat grinder. If the upload photo works for this review, you will see a photo I took as soon as it was delivered to my house (via FedEx, 3 days before scheduled delivery). This should give you some perspective on size of all the boxes together when compared to my 9yo's bike. (Of course I moved the boxes inside... the garage is too hot too store your food storage items!) We purchased this for our family of 4 as a 3 month food storage kit. Everything is well labeled and has multiple recipes for their use. I hope that I will never need to use them, but sleep better knowing that I will be able to feed my family if a major emergency strikes. I plan to buy one more of these kits in a couple months so we have a full 6 months of this type of emergency food storage (to go with my growing pantry stock of food as well). I purchased a pack of 15 P38 can openers for about 6 bucks and will store them with this kit... one in each box. Overkill? Maybe, but I'd hate to have all this food that I couldn't get into! One concern I had was that I would be sent a can of food that had a 10 year shelf life but was 2 years old. Not the case at all. The oldest can of food was 4 months old. Several were packaged less than 6 weeks ago. (There is a Julian Date printed on the bottom of each can to tell when it was packaged.) The price is excellent... significantly less than straight from the manufacturer. I've "spoken" to Augason Farms via Facebook and they have always been responsive and very nice. When doing an inventory to make sure all cans were received (they were - some with minor dents but nothing objectionable) I also resorted them so that cans with the same shelf life were in the same box. I then wrote the contents on the outside of the box along with the expiration date. This will make "rotation" even easier... but the first time I will need to worry about that is in 2021. My 12yo son got excited about the Brownies and that they "only" had a 10 year shelf life. He asked that if we don't need them for emergency food before then, he wants me to bake them for his 22nd birthday!

My low rating is not due to product quality or shipping because I have ordered before with satisfaction, but because the claim this will last one adult an entire year is unfounded. Any online calorie requirement calculator will show that average daily calories listed won't even sustain a 5' tall, 100 pound 85 year-old with a sedentary lifestyle. Few people would have the discipline to limit themselves to a calorie intake that their own comparison chart shows to be less than what they provide children in their family packs. When you consider the extra effort required to provide yourself clean drinking water and fuel for heat and this allegedly one-year supply would be exhausted within six months.

I ordered two of these kits (two people for one year) and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The quality and quantity are outstanding for the price, which BTW is cheaper than through the manufacturer plus the FREE shipping. Highly recommend this for any couple who is even mildly thinking about the future world situation. I will be ordering more from the Sam's website. These are even good for everyday use and left unopened, will store for 30 years. Can't beat the prices and shipped in less than one week. Super bargain...

The purchase was everything as it is advertised. It is significantly cheaper that comparable offerings especially when shipping is considered. It arrived in good shape, on time and is easily handled boxed quantities. The total amount can be stored in a closet and provide the peace of mind that preparation allows. I opened one can and found the contents fresh and tasty. This is an outstanding purchase that I don't think can be beaten.

I followed what several other reviewers recommended. Buy extra rice including the brown rice (brown rice only has 7 year shelf life). Also buy extra dried fruit. Since I can't eat Gluten products I also bought gluten free bread mix, pancake mix, and brownie mix. Two minor complaints. 1. Augason did not always package like items in the same box. 2. Fedex put their label over the top of Augasons label on 80% of the boxes. Very frustrating.. I had to open every box just to identify what was inside then mark the box.

I have been caught in situations where getting out for food has been impossible. I ordered a one-year supply of food and have been very pleased with the quality of packaging and variety of foods. I'm not wild about the vegetarian meat-flavored (chicken, beef, taco) products since when I do eat meat I prefer it to be authentic and not vegetarian - but in a situation where I could not get or store meat - I will be happy to have it!

not what I expected. you have to have other supplies to go with this to make anymeal.

I haven't used my emergency food, but I have inventoried the products and they sent exactly as advertised. All cans are sealed and full of food. Labeled for easy identification. I think I made a good decision, if you compare with other food storage products, this one is priced well and offers a wide variety of food. You could do a lot worse. Get prepared!
