Pay the money for Walmart to assemble this.

I am very happy with my new treadmill. The issue is with the delivery. UPS just dumped an open box on the porch. My husband had to drag the pieces in separately, and we almost overlooked important pieces still in the ruined box. I will never order anything like this again.

Awewsome!

I ordered on-line and had it delivered to my home (because it weighs over 100 lbs). It arrived in just 5 days and in perfect condition. Getting it out of the box was no picnic, but between me and a 10-year-old, we had it out, leggs and monitor on, and walking on it in a matter of minutes. I bought this to be a "walking desk". I mounted a board across the top and put my lap top on it. Now I walk every time I surf the net. And so do my kids and husband! We've been using it for several weeks now (running it at about 1 mph for several hours a day) and haven't had any problems at all. This is a great prouct and it works exactly the way I wanted it to.

Fits the bill so far

I ordered this treadmill at Walmart.com. I have been looking for a reasonably priced treadmill for well over a year & have wanted one for more than 20. Walmart's competitive price & reputation helped us decide to get this one because of the reviews & the video showing ease of assembly. It arrived on schedule via Fedex - not thrilled. We were home & driver just propped this huge box in front of the garage instead of ringing the doorbell. Glad it wasn't pouring rain. I'm 56 & my husband is 59. We're not in terrible shape but could improve. The goal is to walk our way back. I made a bet that I could get it up & going on my own. So at 56 & 5'3", I was able to slide this box down the carpeted basement steps by myself, get it out of the box & assembled in about an hour. It could have been faster but I took my time. So if I'm a 56 year old petite woman & can assemble this thing on my own, don't be afraid if you are in my age bracket. I have been intimidated with the thought of assembling one & the Exerpeutic is very user friendly. Once it was plugged in & powered on, the LCD panel beeped & went right to 0.00. Ready to go. I stepped on it, pressed the button and I was walking. The main power switch is on the bottom front. Very simple, down to earth design. ADVICE: Read the instruction book and follow it step by step. A team of 2 may be needed for getting it up/down steps. PROS: besides assembly is 1) the long side handles & 20" walking surface. 2) love the power & speed buttons along with pulse pads right on the handle bars. 3) LCD panel is large & easy to read. 4) There is plenty of room to add a laptop shelf or hang a towel. 5) spot for the remote. CONS: 1) the belt slips. The book shows you how to adjust it but it seems to want to slip. It's a simple turn of the allen wrench and you're back in business but it does slip. So just be aware of that. 2) no water bottle holder. But that's minor and I'm sure it can be adapted to hold one. All in all, I'm thrilled. It's not very noisey & we'll be able to walk every single day now regardless of weather. It is a nicely made, sturdy piece, great safety features, and it's a basic, no frills model. I didn't want iFit or fans, or electronic doodads. I just want to step on it & walk. I think this will do the trick. Go for it. Happy walking!

Missing parts

I was so disappointed when I picked this up rom the store. There were missing parts. No key to turn it on. There was a small crack in the box, hardly big enough to see, but some how the key and parts to put it together were missing. So we had to repack and return to the store. I will try to reorder, but I was so upset at the time and effort to pick this up and put together only to have a key component missing.

Good size, good price

Good product overall. I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that attaching the computer to the top rail requires pushing the connection wires into a slot that is not wide enough for them. I could install only one of the two screws that secure the panel to the rail due to wiring protruding from the rail slot. I had to install longer screws to secure the computer panel to the rail. The treadmill itself is quiet and works as advertised.

Love the purchase

I am 89 years old and like the max speed of 4 miles per hour. It gives me my pulse and now I do not have to use my watch to check it . Very quite and smooth running, controls are easy to get at and not too hard to assemble. My wife and I like it a lot.

Very Sturdy machine but takes up so much room!

This is for WALKING and it is rated for the big people (up to 400 lbs) where most machines stop at 250 lbs (not enough for me) and it only goes up to 4 miles per hour so you can't run on it. It doesn't fold or compact in any way so be ready to have it out all the time.

Terrific unit. Instructions not very good though.

Had to get help on the phone assembling it. The instructions are sketchy. But the support people were easy to get on the phone, and were able to get me going in no time. The unit is a bit heavy to move around, so better to have two people working the assembly. Operating the unit is so easy. And it works flawlessly now for over a month. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but it is dependable and easy to work. Great value for a big person (340 lbs) to get fit on.

This is a fantastic item for getting started.

Lets start simple, I am a big man, and I am NOT going to be running a marathon this year or next. I needed a treadmill that I could use to start walking more and get stronger to help start losing weight. EVERY treadmill was capped at 250-330 lbs, and I needed more. This treadmill is rated to 400 lbs and it works GREAT. Walmart said 10 days, it shipped free to my house in 5. From box to running with 1 adult and 1 teenager, it took 25 minutes. VERY little assembly. It is wider than most I have seen, It moves nice. The computer is simple, and had a clear readout. speed and stop controls on the computer and on the hand rails. This in my opinion is the perfect treadmill for bigger people who are ready to get started on the road to healthy again. Great Item.

Great treadmill for the price, none of the fancy bells and whistles others have i.e. ipod connection etc. Though not really needed. I'm a big man and needed a high capacity in order to start losing weight and getting fit. Does what I expected and works well. Easy to set up though I recommend help as its very heavy so lifting while you for feet etc can be a little difficult. LCD readout is quite poor but I just want to be able to walk for a period of time each day which I can do. Very quiet so easy to play music or watch tv if set up facing a tv. My panting is louder than the motor lol. Overall very happy with my purchase especially as its below $400 and has such a high weight capacity. Most only have 275lb to 300Ib so at 400lb this was highest i found. Sturdy, heavy, quiet and does What you'd expect it to.
