Good product overall. I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that attaching the computer to the top rail requires pushing the connection wires into a slot that is not wide enough for them. I could install only one of the two screws that secure the panel to the rail due to wiring protruding from the rail slot. I had to install longer screws to secure the computer panel to the rail. The treadmill itself is quiet and works as advertised.

I ordered this treadmill at Walmart.com. I have been looking for a reasonably priced treadmill for well over a year & have wanted one for more than 20. Walmart's competitive price & reputation helped us decide to get this one because of the reviews & the video showing ease of assembly. It arrived on schedule via Fedex - not thrilled. We were home & driver just propped this huge box in front of the garage instead of ringing the doorbell. Glad it wasn't pouring rain. I'm 56 & my husband is 59. We're not in terrible shape but could improve. The goal is to walk our way back. I made a bet that I could get it up & going on my own. So at 56 & 5'3", I was able to slide this box down the carpeted basement steps by myself, get it out of the box & assembled in about an hour. It could have been faster but I took my time. So if I'm a 56 year old petite woman & can assemble this thing on my own, don't be afraid if you are in my age bracket. I have been intimidated with the thought of assembling one & the Exerpeutic is very user friendly. Once it was plugged in & powered on, the LCD panel beeped & went right to 0.00. Ready to go. I stepped on it, pressed the button and I was walking. The main power switch is on the bottom front. Very simple, down to earth design. ADVICE: Read the instruction book and follow it step by step. A team of 2 may be needed for getting it up/down steps. PROS: besides assembly is 1) the long side handles & 20" walking surface. 2) love the power & speed buttons along with pulse pads right on the handle bars. 3) LCD panel is large & easy to read. 4) There is plenty of room to add a laptop shelf or hang a towel. 5) spot for the remote. CONS: 1) the belt slips. The book shows you how to adjust it but it seems to want to slip. It's a simple turn of the allen wrench and you're back in business but it does slip. So just be aware of that. 2) no water bottle holder. But that's minor and I'm sure it can be adapted to hold one. All in all, I'm thrilled. It's not very noisey & we'll be able to walk every single day now regardless of weather. It is a nicely made, sturdy piece, great safety features, and it's a basic, no frills model. I didn't want iFit or fans, or electronic doodads. I just want to step on it & walk. I think this will do the trick. Go for it. Happy walking!

I was so disappointed when I picked this up rom the store. There were missing parts. No key to turn it on. There was a small crack in the box, hardly big enough to see, but some how the key and parts to put it together were missing. So we had to repack and return to the store. I will try to reorder, but I was so upset at the time and effort to pick this up and put together only to have a key component missing.

Use this in my home office, to get walking exercise in between jobs. You can get blood clots if you sit in an office all day and don't get some exercise every hour - and the 440XL makes it easy. Easy to use, so quiet you can barely hear it, gives a start countdown, slows down slowly when you turn it off. Even has a pulse monitor so you can measure your heart rate while exercising. It's everything I wanted it to be. And Customer Service is great to work with. This treadmill had a plastic chip ott the top of one of the side rails. I E-mailed Customer Service, outlined the problem and received a very prompt reply saying they have shipped a replacement part, along with the tracking number. That's excellent service. Very happy with my purchase.

I have had my treadmill about 3 weeks now, walked about 5 days a week. I loved it but then I noticed the buttons sticking and having a hard time getting the reset button to work. Last night I went to get on it and I can't get the power to come on at all, the speed button's are stuck in. If you power the treadmill off and back on again the screen beeps, but it won't power on after that. Really disappointed. I saved a while for this.

Research for an Economical, Practical Choice for a Treadmill brought me to purchase this Product.... Order, Shipping and Tracking went well. Setup was pretty straight forward however a glance or two at the Instructions didn't hurt. By the way, Insturctions could use some Proof Reading. Operates smoothly. however I think the Support Bars where the extra Controls are located would be much more comfortable if they were higher. Also, Controls on Support Bars are much more useful/convenient compared to the Front Panel. So far so good. Still need to know how well it wears over time to give it Two Thumbs up.

I'm a skeptic, so I was prepared for the worst. The treadmill arrived on time, but was left in front of garage door with no notice of arrival. If I hadn't gone to the mailbox, I might have backed over the box. That is not Sam's issue. The box arrived with a small tear, but no damage. It was difficult for just one person to assemble and move into the house, but I managed. It took some determination and ingenuity on my part. I am famously stubborn about doing things myself. I suggest two people for the assembly. No problem attaching the computer screen. Just make sure you don't pinch the wires. There is plenty of room to tuck them into the space provided. The product itself is great. Easy to operate. Computer screen easy to read and set. I am 65 year old female. I don't need more than 4 miles per hour. I am walking at a rate 2.5 and have not missed a day since the setup. One caution. I am 5'8". Any taller and I would be uncomfortable holding the rails. If you don't need the rails for balance as I do, taller people could use it okay. But if you are going to need the hand hold, you height should be considered.

Was very happy to find this product. Always thought that I would need to spend closer to the $2,000 mark to get a sturdy treadmill. This price surprised me and was totally acceptable. In researching - this product made me aware that there are 'walking' only treadmills. I don't plan to run - only walk, which made this a perfect fit. The product arrived at the front door - earlier than expected - a nice surprise!! Easy & simple to put together - only 2 legs with rollers, fold the handlebars up and attach the computer screen. Each of these were done with only 2 handgrip thumb screws. EASY!!!! When not in use, the base/tread folds up and takes much less space in the room - just pull the spring loaded pin out and lift the tread and lock it in the upright position. The mat cushions the treadmill and keeps it from possibly sliding on the floor, even though my room is carpeted, I felt it best to order that, too. How could anyone pass up that deal? All-in-all, this seems like a very sturdy and dependable unit. I hope it proves me right. I've already recommended this to a couple friends who, also, didn't know there were 'walking' only treadmills available.

This treadmill came with directions that was so hard to understand, it made no kind of sense, We tried for hours and decided to take it back after pieces broke, and it came with marks and scratches. It was difficult to lay down the part you walk on, I wish things were clear and easy to put together, it felt like a light treadmill that wasn't going to last a year. Glad I took it back and got my money back.

I purchased this treadmill a few years ago and use it several times a week. It was really easy to set up and use. Very solid. The extra wide belt is great if you're a larger person. Very quiet. Not many bells and whistles - which I actually consider a plus. I wouldn't change a thing.
