Love the products but not the recently re-designed laundry detergent bottle cap. We use many 7th Gen products - laundry detergent, paper products, dish soap, etc. The new laundry detergent bottle cap doesn't empty properly, leaves a soap ring around the outside of the bottle, drips down the sides of the bottle, gets on my hands. The photo shows the cap which has been rinsed a couple times since purchase. Whoops, site won't let me post. Wish I'd kept a cap from an earlier version.

Bought Seventh Generation detergent recently and noticed new packaging. This green lid has no measurement lines on it. The instructions say to fill to specific lines depending on the load, but there are no lines. I did an internet search to see if anyone else had this problem and was immediately taken to this page. Then I noticed the responses to reviews directing customers to a Unilever email address! Unilever is NOT a cruelty free company. Sure Seventh Generation may be, but ultimately by buying Seventh Generation, I am funding Unilever. Thanks but no thanks!

OMG so glad I'm not the only person who can't seem to open this new green lid! I went back to the store and watched someone at the store open it for me. As soon as I got home I couldn't open it AGAIN. Seriously the most frustrating thing ever. Why did you create such a strange new design? This is horrible. Returning it and hopefully will be able to find some of the old bottles.

Your new cap is a fiasco! I'm taking the time to write this because I love this detergent. But the current cap, sadly, is a deal breaker. I have to wipe detergent off the cap each time. Otherwise it drips down the side (see photo) and builds up around the top--leaving a sticky mess on the shelf and my hands the next time I grab the bottle.

This detergent does the job and I've been using it for years, but like other reviews, this updated green cap is a pain. I can't see the line markings on the lid because it's green: I could see the lines when the cap was clear. Also, the cap makes it all a MESS! Why change the design when you had it right, Seventh Generation? It's as if they update design without actually trying it themselves. I hope they see these reviews and change it back!

Was looking forward to a genuine lavender scent in the Fresh Lavender, but the lingering odor is the patchouli note. NOT what I had assumed. Should have read the detailed label ingredients! Happy with other scents and results in the brand's laundry line, but felt misled by this one.

I have used this detergent for quite some time and been happy with it. However, the new green cap is absolutely terrible...bad enough for me to switch to a different product. The instructions say to fill to "Line 3" or "Line 5" and there is not a "Line 3" or "Line 5" on the cap. There aren't any measuring lines on the cap...so no clue how much to add to the laundry. It's also very messy, with the detergent dripping out when you put the cap back on. It's a terrible step back in packaging. I pay extra to have a better product. I definitely did not get my money's worth this time! If you see the green cap move on and buy something else.

I have used the liquid laundry detergent for many years; until now, I would not have used any other product. However, the "free & clear" with the new green cap has changed my mind. The instructions say to fill to line 3 or line 5, but there are no lines on the new, green cap! And the cap is difficult to use. Please return to the white cap on the liquid detergent, and also return to the original formula, if you have changed the formula for the "new green cap." I am very unhappy with the changes you have made in this product, and I will now search for a new product to use, unfortunately. Thank you for your attention and action.

For the record, this review is for the new Fresh Lavender scent, and not about the quality or effectiveness of the detergent. I have to join the chorus of those complaining about the new "fresh lavender" scent. I love the smell of actual fresh lavender, and usually like products with natural lavender scents (no synthetics). However, this scent does not smell like lavender, and it is very overpowering. I am among those who suffer from scent sensitivities, and the previous Blue Eucalyptus and Lavender scent was never a problem for me. If the Blue Eucalyptus and Lavender scent is no longer available at my store, I will be purchasing the fragrance free version instead.

I've used this laundry for several years and have in the past loved the product. It works well in both scented and unscented versions. However, the new cap is TERRIBLE. Please please please bring back the the old cap. The new cap pours from the inside rim and the outside rim and drips EVERYWHERE. I will be buying different brands until this cap is fixed. The old caps worked absolutely perfectly. PLEASE FIX THE CAPS.
