I have been buying this product for years, but the new green cap is awful. It does not let residual detergent drain back into the bottle, so it leaves a messy buildup around the rim. I came online to see if others had problems, and was interested to see how many reviews talk about the same problems with the green cap. Awful design and change. Please bring back the old cap design so I can go back to being a loyal customer. Until then, it's not worth it to buy this product anymore.

Poorly Designed Green Cap I just purchased this in September 2023, and copied and pasted this comment from 9 months ago because it is a completely accurate statement of my experience and problem with this product (mainly the packaging). Where are we supposed to find Line 3 and Line 5? I have used this detergent for quite some time and been happy with it. However, the new green cap is absolutely terrible...bad enough for me to switch to a different product. The instructions say to fill to "Line 3" or "Line 5" and there is not a "Line 3" or "Line 5" on the cap. There aren't any measuring lines on the cap...so no clue how much to add to the laundry. It's also very messy, with the detergent dripping out when you put the cap back on. It's a terrible step back in packaging. I pay extra to have a better product. I definitely did not get my money's worth this time! If you see the green cap move on and buy something else.

I've used this detergent for a long time and it works great. However, the new green lids are terrible. It's impossible to close the lid without getting detergent on the outside, and then old crusty detergent flakes off every time I open it. I'll be switching brands unless they change the lids back.

Well I'm not the only one! So I have Rheumatoid Arthritis very bad in my hands. No way I can open this new top. And I'm reading the reviews, so I guess once I get my neighbor to open it I'll be have other challenges. I've used your product for years. I have to switch! Why would you do this?

I'm so sick and tired of the new cap. It drips everywhere! I don't understand why they thought this was a good design. Every time I use it, I get detergent on my hands, on the bottle, and on my laundry room floor. I had to start storing the bottle inside of a tote because it's so messy. I will be switching to a different brand until this is fixed.

The cap design is horrible and needs to be redesigned. The directions mention filling up to “3” and “5” but there are no numbers visible. Also, this is not a no-spill design - there is nothing to catch smallest amount of leftover liquid on the cap. Make sure you have something handy to wipe it off.

I really like Seventh Generation Free & Clear because it's gentle, effective, and doesn't leave any strong scent behind. The formula cleans well even with larger loads, and I've never noticed any residue on clothes or towels. It's a great option if you have sensitive skin or want something that feels clean and simple without heavy dyes or fragrances.

My son is allergic to cents and I can only use free and clear for him. The effectiveness works great he does not complain about itching anymore and his clothes still get clean I like the packaging because it's very basic so I know exactly which one I'm going for every single time

7th generation is super effective when it comes to washing your clothes. Its has easy access packing and a fresh scent. Its a great value for your money and is good to use when remember the environmental impact it has. I have super sensitive skin and it never gives me rashes or reactions ever. Its one of my favorite laundry detergents

I love being able to use this on my families clothes, especially my children, without worrying about dyes or artificial scents. I feel very safe using this for my family. The clothes always turn out very clean. Just pour into the washer and press start.
