I've been using this detergent for years, and I've always liked it. But the cap on the new packaging is so poorly designed that you can't really use it now. So I'm currently looking for alternatives for when my current container runs out. There are many different problems with the cap, the main one being that it drips like crazy. The no-drip cap has been standard in the industry for many decades. The previous packaging of this had a no-drip cap. It's beyond me why you thought it was a good idea to replace that with this mess. Speaking of which, it's impossible to use this without creating a huge mess. And you get the detergent all over your hands whenever you touch the container. And the detergent drips into the threads which makes it difficult to screw the cap back onto the jug. And the microscopic fill line is functionally impossible to see. It took me about half an hour, a bright light and magnifying glasses to even find it. Please fix this. You make a good product, and it's a shame that something as trivial as the cap renders it unusable. Really, fix this.

I have used this detergent for quite some time and been happy with it. However, the new green cap is absolutely terrible...bad enough for me to switch to a different product. The instructions say to fill to "Line 3" or "Line 5" and there is not a "Line 3" or "Line 5" on the cap. There aren't any measuring lines on the cap...so no clue how much to add to the laundry. It's also very messy, with the detergent dripping out when you put the cap back on. It's a terrible step back in packaging. I pay extra to have a better product. I definitely did not get my money's worth this time! If you see the green cap move on and buy something else.

I have been using the laundry detergent for nearly a decade. The new lid design was unnecessary and is terrible. The new lid does not allow for detergent to drain back into the bottle, but to leak out forming a mess. Please revert back to the old design.

The new “fresh lavender” scent is sooo strong and sooo awful and sooo NOT lavender. Like a previous reviewer, I've been a longtime, happy user of the Seventh Generation “blue eucalyptus & lavender” scented laundry detergent. I recently purchased what I thought was the usual scent only to be highly disappointed to find out how awfully wrong I was. First off, the label for the new “fresh lavender” scent looks practically identical to the old “blue eucalyptus & lavender” label (seriously, Seventh Generation? Come on...help a mama out!) So I didn't even notice the difference until I pulled my laundry out of the washer and couldn't get over how bad it smelled. At first I thought maybe my washer hadn't washed out all of the detergent, or that perhaps I used too much. So I ran the load through the rinse cycle again. Nope. That horrendously strong odor was still there. Then I looked at the bottle and noticed the tiny little “new” label above the scent name and realized that despite the incredibly similar label, it wasn't the usual scent. Now, I love lavender. But this smell is not lavender. It smells like a combo of ammonia and bug spray to me. And I cannot get over how strong it is. Even after an extra rinse cycle and dry, everything washed in that load of laundry reeks. I'm super disappointed. Please tell me that this new extremely strong and unpleasant not-actually-lavender scent isn't replacing the blue eucalyptus & lavender scent.

Love the products but not the recently re-designed laundry detergent bottle cap. We use many 7th Gen products - laundry detergent, paper products, dish soap, etc. The new laundry detergent bottle cap doesn't empty properly, leaves a soap ring around the outside of the bottle, drips down the sides of the bottle, gets on my hands. The photo shows the cap which has been rinsed a couple times since purchase. Whoops, site won't let me post. Wish I'd kept a cap from an earlier version.

The detergent is great and works well. No scent is a big plus. BUT the bottle design is extremely poor (does nobody at Seventh Generation use their own products?) and I will likely switch brands after we used it up. The issue is that the cap is impossible to put on without detergent being pushed out the sides and running down the bottle.

Your new cap is a fiasco! I'm taking the time to write this because I love this detergent. But the current cap, sadly, is a deal breaker. I have to wipe detergent off the cap each time. Otherwise it drips down the side (see photo) and builds up around the top--leaving a sticky mess on the shelf and my hands the next time I grab the bottle.

It took a little while but I'm happy I finally got my free samples! I was really excited to try this really positive kind loving brand. I've always seen it at stores an I read about it in the past but never actually bought it but I'm very satisfied with my samples there so cute and I love them I love everything about it from the brand to the movement behind it to the whole reason for it it's great it's positive and with real meaning behind it. I love love there's not any horrible chemicals or some really bad bad ingredient's..also love it's powered by plants.bi love it it's great!!✓✓✓ the samples are cute and tiny but those little samples really surprised me on how clean and made my clothes smell sooo good from just one little sample it really surprised me but overall I love it and definitely will buy again and again!! Thank u ❤️❤️

OMG so glad I'm not the only person who can't seem to open this new green lid! I went back to the store and watched someone at the store open it for me. As soon as I got home I couldn't open it AGAIN. Seriously the most frustrating thing ever. Why did you create such a strange new design? This is horrible. Returning it and hopefully will be able to find some of the old bottles.

I have been using Seventh Generation Free & Clear for years. I liked the product and I really liked the mess free cap design. My last bottle came with a cost reduced green lid that is messy. I will be looking for a mess free cap of whatever brand the next time I need laundry detergent. Please consider providing your product with your old mess free cap design! Speaking as a mechanical engineer, your old cap was a really good design!
