Runs much quieter than my 5 year old 25 pint Whirlpool and also much cooler. Doesn't heat up the room at all when you run it. Much lighter, too...I can carry it up and down the stairs. Easy to read and empty the water bucket since it has a small red float in the front to show the bucket water level. So far nothing I don't like about it. Basement is dryer! Good price on this, too. I shopped around.

So far so good after a week or so of use. Once I unpacked the dehumidifier, pulled off all the tape holding it together (including tape inside the water bucket), & read the instructions I was ready to go. I hooked the unit up to a drainage hose so I don't have to empty buckets of water. It is easy to move around with the attached wheels. It has easy to use buttons to operate as needed and so far is doing what it's supposed to do - remove the moisture in my basement. The unit is quiet - I don't hear it from my first floor. I'm glad I made this purchase.

This little machine has removed many gallons of water from my home this first week. I have to empty the reservoir every 2 1/2-3 hours. No problems getting it out without spilling, it has a convenient carry handle. It gets tricky dumping the water out though because it has no spout and is an odd shape around the edges. Empty slowly to prevent an accidental spill. My home smells much fresher. I will put this machine in the basement next with a drain hose to the sump pump. I will update after. So far I am thrilled with the performance of this machine. I got 4 stars instead of 5 just because of the slight difficulty in emptying the reservoir, otherwise it is awesome! Works great!

My previous dehumidifier was a smaller Maytag. It ran for 8 years, but was louder and the cheap hose attachment broke very early in its life. This highly rated unit (Consumer Reports) is so much quieter, so effective (wet walls/ flooring of unfinished basement dry overnight). It surprises me how infrequently it needs to run, because it is so effective when it does. It seems very well built, and is basically the same size as my old lower-capacity unit. Time will tell regarding its lifespan, but all sign are positive so far. I highly recommend this!

The unit seems to do the job. My humid basement was comfortably dry in just a couple days. I attached a drain hose and direct connected the unit to a drain line. I worry that the plastic male thread and neck on the unit seems kinda flimsy. After about a week of operation I've used about 22kwhr. So the unit should cost me under $10/month to run at the present 55% setting. My other concern is that it often 'starts-up' then 'quits' almost immediately. Then a few minutes later it starts up again and usually stays going. What's with that? The real test is "Will it be working well in 2 -3 years?". Send me a note to Review the product in 2 years.

Online research led me to choose this product. I had the dehumidifier shipped to my local Walmart store. It arrived in store on time and with no damage. We have it in an unfinished basement of about 500 sq. feet that had gotten wet from a broken water pipe during the summer. Ran fans during the summer and thought the basement had dried out. Now with the cold weather water is condensing on the inside of the cool outside walls. I have only ran it now for 4 days, empting a full bucket of water each day, and have noticed a big drop in condensation. Doing a good job although the unheated basement stays about 40 degrees F. Very pleased so far with the operation, noise level better than expected after reading some reviews. I hope to be able to give a better review a year from now.

I decided to purchase this dehumidifier after reading all the reviews. I'm glad I did...it's the best one I've ever owned. Easy to operate, quiet and does an excellent job of removing moisture from the air. I have a high water table & french drains in my basement so keeping the dampness down is critical. I let it run full time for 3 days so I could see how quickly the bucket filled up, then easily hooked up the hose in the back to drain right into my sump pump. It said it would ship to my store in 7-10 days, but it arrived there in only 2 days! Way to go Walmart!!!

Bought this unit when I moved into a new house that has a below grade lower level which is finished. The foundation is cinderblock, and somewhat damp. This unit has been running non-stop for 10 days, and I empty it twice a day. The humidity level has dropped from 65% to 45% and seems completely under control now. It seems like a good quality machine for the price range it is in.

Keeps the humidity down to acceptable level. Easy to operate. Bucket fills up every day, and is easy to empty. I now have a hose hooked up for continuous draining. Some water ran out of drain plug, when I went to attach the hose. Unit is fairly quiet, but has a low whine. Unit is fairly heavy and doesn't move over rugs very well, but easily rolls over smooth surfaces.

We had an issue with moisture in out basement. This dehydrator made a very noticeable in only 2-3 days. We were amazed by the amount of water it was able to pull out, maybe not 50 pints, but we were dumping nearly 5 gallons so I am sure it is very close to its advertised performance.
