This is my third dehumidifier ever. It is quieter than my previous two, fine for the basement, but I wouldn't want it in my living room. All you hear is the fan, not the compressor. Wasn't sure it was working at first, but it filled up the bucket in one night.

Our house has a really bad moisture problem. We plugged the dehumidifier in and within 12 hours the bucket was full! The first 3 days we had to dump the bucket every 12 hours now it's about once a day. We've noticed the musty smell is also gone when we are using the machine. Overall I would most definitely recommended to anyone needing a dehumidifier! In fact we plan to buy a second one for the back of the house!

If you are looking to remove significant water out of the air, this is the dehumidifier you are lookng for. My entire basement (1000 sq. ft w/ adjoining rooms), benefit from the operation of this one unit. The one off room where the weather station is located (two walls are concrete), has dropped to 50% from 72% and seems to want to go lower. I could not be happier. Coupling this purchase with the addition of the extended warranty, guarantees that my possessions located on that floor will not be damaged by moisture, for a long time. A lot to like.

This dehumidifier is VERY easy to use right out of the box. The wheels on the bottom make it easy to move from room to room. Visual indicator of the water level shows you how well it is working. A must have for anyone who lives in a humid area or who simply needs to improve the air quality of your home or office space.

My previous dehumidifier was a smaller Maytag. It ran for 8 years, but was louder and the cheap hose attachment broke very early in its life. This highly rated unit (Consumer Reports) is so much quieter, so effective (wet walls/ flooring of unfinished basement dry overnight). It surprises me how infrequently it needs to run, because it is so effective when it does. It seems very well built, and is basically the same size as my old lower-capacity unit. Time will tell regarding its lifespan, but all sign are positive so far. I highly recommend this!

Runs much quieter than my 5 year old 25 pint Whirlpool and also much cooler. Doesn't heat up the room at all when you run it. Much lighter, too...I can carry it up and down the stairs. Easy to read and empty the water bucket since it has a small red float in the front to show the bucket water level. So far nothing I don't like about it. Basement is dryer! Good price on this, too. I shopped around.

Has performed well since purchased and reduced humidity level in basement as expected. Hooked up hose to drain to eliminate manual emptying of bucket. Unit is relatively quiet and simple to use. The timer feature is a bit compicated though. Overall very satisfied.

So far I'm very happy with the dehumidifier. For something that big it is reasonably quiet. When I first set it up several days ago I could switch the fan from high to low, now it seems stuck in low (fine with me), which could be a user error on my part. I knew I needed a dehumidifier that I could move room to room, as I had mold collecting on everything. Because I have carpet it doesn't roll, even though it has wheels. Fortunately I am strong enough to carry it. Bottom line, I am thrilled to be able to extract so much water from the air.

Bought this unit when I moved into a new house that has a below grade lower level which is finished. The foundation is cinderblock, and somewhat damp. This unit has been running non-stop for 10 days, and I empty it twice a day. The humidity level has dropped from 65% to 45% and seems completely under control now. It seems like a good quality machine for the price range it is in.

This little machine has removed many gallons of water from my home this first week. I have to empty the reservoir every 2 1/2-3 hours. No problems getting it out without spilling, it has a convenient carry handle. It gets tricky dumping the water out though because it has no spout and is an odd shape around the edges. Empty slowly to prevent an accidental spill. My home smells much fresher. I will put this machine in the basement next with a drain hose to the sump pump. I will update after. So far I am thrilled with the performance of this machine. I got 4 stars instead of 5 just because of the slight difficulty in emptying the reservoir, otherwise it is awesome! Works great!
