Hope it last more than 2 seasons

This is my 3rd Frigidaire 50-pint dehumidifier in 2 years. The first one lasted 10 months, the 2nd one 13 months. This latest model is quieter than the two previous ones and is energy star rated. I is working well, I just hope it last a couple of years. I had 2 Kenmore dehumidifiers and neither lasted more than 15 months.

I've is owned this dehumidifier for a few weeks now. It runs reasonably quiet and the water bucket is fairly easy to empty (I don't use the drain hose connection). I do have issues with it though. When running it gives off a somewhat unpleasant odor. I've used dehumidifiers for many years and I've never experienced that before. Also, the fan seems to hardly ever shut off, even though I assume the compressor is cycling on and off (I can't hear when it does, since the fan doesn't shut off). Also, the humidifier setting seems way off compared to the two humidity gauges I have. When I have the humidifier set to 55, my other two gauges read around 40%. When I set the humidifier to 60, the other two gauges stay around 50%. I'm considering returning it and trying another unit.

Does a great job!

We needed a humidifier for our large lower level family room. This one does a great job! It pulls a lot of moisture from the air, and shuts off when full. That is all we wanted....We saw this unit rated highly in Consumer Reports, and Walmart.com was the absolute best deal, say nothing of .97 shipping!

Quiet, efficient, user friendly dehumidifier

This unit replaced a recalled Frigidaire dehumidifier that had performed well. It did not disappoint. Sleek, quiet & user friendly, it is on wheels & moves easily with a recessed handle to assist. Bucket empties easily & unit comes with reusable filter. Shipping by Walmart.com was super fast. Online ordering was flawless. Price was very competitive.

Was what we were looking for

We were looking for a dehumidifier for our 1800 sq/ft crawl space to help mitigate the moisture seeping in from the ground. This dehumidifier fit the bill and for a very competitive price. The reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was a little bit tricky to get the drainage going where it would drain out of the hose we attached vs. the bucket reservoir and it took a couple tries to get it set right. However, once we got it set up it got the humidity down from 85% to 60% overnight. The auto-stop function when the bucket is full was also nice and functions really well. Haven't had it long enough to verify how easy it is to clean the filter, etc. but overall pleased with the purchase.

The best in its class

I really like this dehumidifier. The most important feature that sets it apart from other units: THE FAN SHUTS OFF ALONG WITH THE COMPRESSOR WHEN THE TARGET HUMIDITY LEVEL IS REACHED Yes, there has been some debate about this, but this is actually true, and confirmed by the Energy Star website. I really like this feature because it saves energy, and of course it is very quiet when it is off! Like most units it has a digital control pad, along with two fan speeds. The bucket is reasonably sized, but you can also connect a hose. As for sound level, I have it in a back room, so I don't notice it. Sound level seems average. I recommend this unit.

Works like a charm!

This is a great dehumidifier. I bought it to get moisture out of my parent's wet, musty basement. It is working perfectly. I purchased an inexpensive 10 ft. garden hose, connected it to the back of the unit and ran the hose to a drain. I never have to empty the bucket, and it has really done the job. It runs very quietly, is easy to operate, and really gets moisture out of the air quickly. You won't be disappointed with this unit!

Very efficient at removing moisture.

We are very impressed with the effectiveness of this unit. The product was definitely removing 50 pints per day from our basement the first week. We have noticed a significant difference in the air quality and odor (was getting a heavy must smell). The automatic shutoff worked perfectly so as not allow an overfill condition. We have also hooked up a 25 foot garden hose on the other side of the unfinished part of the basement to allow continuous drainage to take place. Very satisfied with the product.

Works like a charm!

This is dehumidifier #2 we purchased for our cabin basement. #1 was purchased for our home and we liked it so much purchased another exactly the same. Does everything it claims. Only dehumidifier we found that in addition to all the great features, it comes with a 5 year warranty. Can't beat that!

Works but noisy, hot and not too efficient

My Whirlpool dehumidifier died after 9 years. This is a replacement because I couldn't find an exact model of the Whirlpool one. It works to a certain degree where it removes a lot of water. However, it can only reduce the water content to about 45% Relative Humidity and no further. If I set it to lower than 45% RH, it will just constantly run, but the RH will not go down and I don't feel drier. Possibly due to it runs a lot, it generates a lot of heat and becomes noisy. Not the best I've had and I am considering exchanging it or returning it.
