Wonderfully Efficient!

I have been using this dehumidifier a few weeks now and it is far superior to the LG that I replaced. Really pulls the moisture out of the air and I find myself emptying the container twice a day. Has a powerful fan that pushes the dry air back into the room. My basement is much improved by it.

Quiet Operation

Got this to replace one that came with our house. It was delivered quickly, and was the best price per Pint i could find. Setup was easy, basically nothing other than setting up the auto drain. I turned on and i wasn't sure it was working because the compressor is so quiet. I would buy this again and tell anyone to get it.

Great performance; easy to operate.

Based on high user ratings from a number of sources, I purchased this item when it went on sale on WalMart's web site, and took advantage of the free shipping to their store nearest me. Set-up was very straightforward, thanks to an excellent owner's manual. The digital relative humidity display is in a good location on top of the machine, and is easy to read. I'm using this device in an unfinished basement room of about 400 sq ft with a very high ceiling. A remote weather station sensor I keep in the room indicated that the humidity during the summer months was consistently in the 69%-70% range unless the door to the finished part of the basement was left open, and that action only lowered the humidity by a couple of percentage points, probably due to poor air circulation (no HVAC vents in that room). When I started up the device, I set the desired humidity to 50% and closed the door to the finished area. It took only two days of essentially continuous operation for the humidity to drop to the desired level. During that time, I had to empty the bucket about twice per day. Since that initial period, the machine now cycles on and off to maintain the 50% figure, and I empty it only once per day, even if it's not full. Incidentally, the humidity display on the machine is in sync with the readings that are returned by my weather station's remote sensor, so I'm confident that everything is working as it should. On top of that, it's Energy Star rated, too. All in all, I'm enjoying excellent performance at a very competitive price.

helps humidity

I am very satisfied with the product, works very well, you can set the humidity level where you want, it has a hose hook-up to drain directly into the one in the utility room. Does make a high pitch humming noise which would annoy me if it was upstairs. Not too sure about the energy efficiency my electric bill jumped $40 the month I started using it & I was using it pretty constant at first with the recent torrents of rain. Now I put it on a 3 hour timer which is also included on the control mantle...does throw off some heat though which is not so much appreciated in the summer as I like to pull the nice cool air up... but will heat it up down there in the winter.

The unit is quiet, efficient, reliable, I love it

I have an art room that is a finished section of our ground level garage. It is enclosed and insulated and has a window air conditioned. We live on the coast of Georgia so it is very warm and humid during the summer months. The window air conditioner would keep the room cool but it didn't make it any drier, so I decided to give this dehumidifier a try. In two days of filling the bucket each day, the room started to smell fresher and felt drier. Now I am using the rel. humid. setting and at 50% it is still finding plenty of moisture, usually 3/4 of a bucket per day. Who would have thought that much water is in the air?!!!

House humidity level went down quickly.

Humidity levels had gotten very bad in our house. Researched dehumidifiers and found this one. I almost bought the next size up and I am glad I did not because that would have been overkill. This one is rated for the size of my house. Ordered it online (Walmart.com) and picked it up in-store. It comes pre-assembled all I had to do was removed some shipping tape. I followed the directions and I let it run until the humidity level got back to normal. For the first 3 days I had to empty the dehumidifier every 8 hours. It gradually got to every 12 hours. By the end of the week, I just set the percentage and I check it everyday. I empty it now only once every 3 days. It is fairly quiet compared to some of my friends dehumidifiers. It is quieter that a window unit air-conditioner and you can have a normal conversation in the same room with it. When I had it in the TV room I did turn it off when I was watching TV just so I wouldn't have to turn the sound up too high(personal preference). I do move it to different parts of the house, which is easy, it has several handles(top and side) and wheels. When you move it to different rooms remember to open closet doors so air can circulate and dry them also. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Best dehumidifier I've tried

We live in a berm home and the floors were feeling sticky and it had a musty odor. This is the 3rd dehumidifier. The first one (a different brand) worked but never shut off and seemed to blow really hot air so I decided it was too small and returned it. The second one didn't even turn on. After research the Frigidaire had the best ratings so ordered it. It is working well and turns off occasionally and doesn't blow such hot air- it usually blows cool air. The dampness in my house is gone as well as the musty odor.

perfect fix

First few days it ran non stop on its own, thought it would never shut off. After about 6 days of running it on low, the humidity level in my basement was right where it needed to be. My basement is about 1000 sq. feet and I bought the 50 gallon. Easy to empty in the beginning twice a day now, once and it's not full. The humidity level in basement is at 50% now. No more musty smell !!! If you are buying it where there is a bedoom ,it is a little loud even on low, like an old fan running. Happy , did the trick !!!!

Works great in the basement!

My basement has gotten a makeover just by putting this in it! The musty smell is gone and it sucks humidity out of the air with no problem. Didn't realize just how humid it was down there until I plugged this in. The first 2 days I had to empty it every 4 hours, now I empty it twice a day. Probably going to upgrade to a larger unit.

Best Dehumidifier I Have Ever Purchased

This is the fourth dehumidifier I have purchased for the house we live in and so far it has out performed any of the past three purchased. It seems to take more water out the air and room faster than any other we have had with less heat blown out of its exhaust than the others. All dehumidifiers produce heat, some quite a lot, but the Frigidaire doesn't warm a room anywhere near what the other we had did. It is also the quietest dehumidifier we have had. The accumulation bucket is a little difficult to empty the first couple of times, but with the help of its handle it soon become easy to dump water without spilling any. There is also a drain hose attachment on the rear which works good if you have a floor drain near by for continues operation. The unit has wheels and a top handle, and with its light weight it is easy to move around. All controls are on top and are digital, they are easy to understand and easy to work. We decided to purchase this Frigidaire dehumidifier after having a Frigidaire air conditioner which has now performed without a problem now for the last four years and all the online sites seem to have more good reviews of this unit than just about any other dehumidifier. Walmart didn't have this in stock at any local stores but ordering online we were able to pick it up at our local Walmart in just three days. After all the shopping and research we did I am glad we purchased this unit, it has performed great in our home and also qualifies for a $25.00 rebate through our local electric company since it is energy star approved which many dehumidifiers are not..
