Good reasonable quiet

It came well packaged. It was easy to set up and get started. I easily connected a hose for continuous draining. Noise is fairly quiet. I have it sitting about 8 feet from me while watching TV and have no trouble with the noise level. I have it set at 50% humidity and that seems about right. If I set it lower than that, it never seems to turn off.

Out of the box and plugged in in 10 minutes. Used in a very large basement together with two 20" box fans. Basement does not have any evidence of moisture on walls or floor. However, basement has two ceiling vents that circulate airconditioning throughtout the entire house 24 hours a day. Consequently, the humidity is virtually the same upstairs and downstairs. But that means that if the outside humidity is 70% the basement humidity is 70%, less the amount of humidity the airconditioner removes from the air. When plugged in for the first time it registered 65% humidity. Outside humidity was about 65% also. Within 12 hours basement humidity was reduced to 55%. When the humidifier is set at a level below outside humidity it pulls out 3 gal of water every 12 hours that must be emptied in the basement laundry tub (hose to sump pump hole not connected)

Easy installation and good price for the value

I have never purchased an appliance online before, but was pleasantly pleased with how this product matched the online description. I was able to connect the electricity and hose connector within minutes and the unit was up and running. It is somewhat heavy, but there are side handles to help move the unit. There are also 4 wheels that move multi-directionally for ease of positioning. My only suggestion would be to make sure you purchase a unit that can handle the size of the room/space you wish to dehumidify. I thought that capacity didn't matter if you were using a hose to drain the water. In actuality, the bigger the room, the bigger capacity you must have.

Returned

Tried to order the 70 pint but it was out of stock in Michigan and on-line so I ordered the 50 pint begrudgingly. Literally 1 week after I picked up the 50 pint I received an email stating "you might also like this" and it was as 70 pint!!!!! Really?!?!?!? AND it was only $8 more in price. I just returned the 50 pint (which seemed to work fine) and picked up the 70 pint this morning. I'm sure I will receive another survey on that as well...so I'll let you know how I like the 70 pint at that point.

Efficient dehumidifer

I relied on other reviews when choosing this product and it has lived up to expectations. The built-in handle makes it easy to move. The water bucket also has a handle which is convenient for emptying. The two speeds produce fairly quiet fan sounds. It has done a great job of pulling moisture from the basement and I have also used it on the main floor of the house and can certainly feel a difference. Shipping was extremely fast and it arrived two days before I expected it. Would definitely recommend.

Does the job

I've had it two weeks and it does an excellent job knocking water out of the air. Despite what others have said, I think it is relatively quiet as dehumidifiers go (this is my third and it is the quietest I have owned) and it does not throw out hot air. The only thing I am not thrilled about is I think it is a little bit of a pain to empty the bucket, however I think I may hook a hose up to it, and this is the best setup for that of any dehumidifier I have owned. The bucket seems more fragile than the thick plastic ones of other dehumidifiers (this is in front and tries to be more decorative). I was surprised that this model is about half the depth of older ones and thereby takes up much less space, yet performs very well.

Well constructed, removes moisture well.

The only problem with the Frigidaire 50 pint dehumidifier is the compressor noise. There is a whine (or squeal). Frigidaire tells me that is normal for a high efficiency compressor. I returned the dehumidifier to the store. The noise could be heard all over the house.

Just got the unit and it is very quiet

The compressor in our old dehumidifier was so loud. This one is so quiet, you can only the hear the fan blowing. Seems to really pull a lot of moisture out of basement. The convenient hook up for a hose (connected to our sump well) makes it easy. Never have to empty the bucket. Let's see how long this unit lasts.

Control the Dampness

The vertical design takes less floor space than my previous model, and it is doing a good job of removing the humidity from the basement. The air is drawn in through the front and out the top so it has a different air flow than a straight through path of others I've used. It is fairly quiet. One issue is emptying the "bucket." Due to its shape it is easy to spill the water. It does have a convenient place to attach a hose without removing or modifying the collection bucket.
