Works well

This dehumidifier works fine. It's been running in our basement all year for two years. Hopefully we get a few more years out of it. I would recommend this one to a friend. As far as Hearing it run, it's in our basement so we don't care about that. I don't think that would be bothersome though. Overall I think it's a good one for the price.

excellent product but instructions very poor

Excellent product but instructions written very very poorly. No mention as to how to set up for auto on off humidity levels. I had to call twice to Frigidaire to find a person that knew what she was talking about. Auto on and Auto off mentioned but not explained. Most people would not use those two (separate) features. Most would use a set humidity level and allow the unit to turn on and off automatically but that feature is not explained at all in the instructions.

Quick fix for a damp basement

My basement has been damp for years. My fiancé as well as my brother-in-law bought this dehumidifier and likes how well it worked. I decided to try one in my basement. In just one week I have noticed a considerable difference in my basement. The damp smell is gone and the air quality is warmer and drier feeling. I couldn't be happier with the difference this unit made. It's very easy to operate and empty.

Quiet operation - does the job in a cool basement

I purchased this unit because the dehumidifier I had would not operate below 65 degrees fahrenheit. (The unit is probably 30 years old and I had not had occasion to need to reduce the humidity while the basement was that cool. This unit claims to operate down to 41 degrees and I can attest that it does work at or below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. My only concern with this unit is that it has a smaller collection bucket than I had before, so it won't run as long without emptying.

works well; pretty quiet

I've only had this for a couple of weeks but I'm impressed with amount of water it pulls from the air as well as the lower level of "white" noise compared to other dehumidifiers I've had. It takes some finesse to remove the bucket of water but the fact that you can hook it up to a drain hose negates that issue. I'm glad I purchased this product.

Frigidaire dehumidifer 50 pint

It arrived within 2 days of ordering. Took into my basement and turned it on. Within a few hours the musty smell began to lessen, which surprised me. I left on continuous setting for a few days as recommended. The mustiness has gone away now. The water container is a bit awkward to remove and to re install. It does not do so smoothly and being plastic I am concerned about its durability. I plan to use the hose drain going forward. So far I am satisfied. Unit is reasonably quiet. Long term durability remains to be seen, as I have only had this unit for 2 weeks.

Seems to be a good value

So far I'm impressed with this dehumidifier. I have it in a 15 x 15 ft crawl space and it seems to be controlling the humidity at 55% quite nicely. I would recommend this unit, however, it would be nice to have a remote control feature due to my limited access to the unit. Also the Jun 2014 Consumer Reports overlooked the fact that the unit has a continuous running fan. I'm not sure about the benefits of a continuous running fan, but on the down side, I'm sure it costs a bit more to run. I don't think you would be disappointed if you purchased this unit.

Smart dehumidifier

It replaced a 12 year old unit that quit working. This one runs so much less time than the old one due to its greater ability to remove humidity from the air plus the electronics do a much better job than the old "set and guess" dial on the older unit. A larger container makes dumping the bucket every day into a 3 days between emptying. It is quiet also compared to the older unit. Very pleased with the performance.

Deserves the good reviews

I've only had this dehumidifier a week, but it lives up to all the good reviews. It's much quieter than my old LG (which died). It seems to cycle on and off much more intelligently as well. My biggest area of concern is with reliability. It seems that the dehumidifiers being manufactured these days aren't as reliable as they used to be. I've got my fingers crossed!

Good solution for humid basement

Purchased this Frigidaire unit to replace the exact same model which died. Impressed with how quite it is compared to Sears (Haier) dehumidifier we also have. Walmart ship to store program was easy, lightning fast & the price was lowest I could find.
