Great product

Very happy with the product. In one hour it took the humidity in the basement from 74% down to 52%. It no longer has that musty smell down there. I would say the only down falls is it's not as quiet as I would like and it's a bit of a struggle to get the tank back in the unit. Overall it's works great at removing the moisture. I already recommended it to my sister.

The unit is quiet, efficient, reliable, I love it

I have an art room that is a finished section of our ground level garage. It is enclosed and insulated and has a window air conditioned. We live on the coast of Georgia so it is very warm and humid during the summer months. The window air conditioner would keep the room cool but it didn't make it any drier, so I decided to give this dehumidifier a try. In two days of filling the bucket each day, the room started to smell fresher and felt drier. Now I am using the rel. humid. setting and at 50% it is still finding plenty of moisture, usually 3/4 of a bucket per day. Who would have thought that much water is in the air?!!!

Doing the Job

Bought this to replace the recalled Frigidaire I had used for several years. This one has a smaller footprint and should fit nicely anywhere it is needed. The top air exhaust and hose connection is an improvement over the older model. I have it running in a cold basement to get a head start on the mold season and it is doing very well. The old model wouldn't work well if it was in a cold area. I've had it a couple of weeks and, so far, it's done a great job. Walmart's price was the best I found and the ship-to-store process was very quick.

Good quality unit.

This dehumidifier runs very quietly and has made a dramatic change in our basement. The drain option works quite well. I also like the float ball glass on the front that shows how full the bucket is. I also like the extended service plan. One of the home improvement stores offered a similar plan, but 1 year less for the same price. I had trouble with other units cycling on and off which this one does not do.

Dehumidifier

Unit has so far performed as good as advertised. Runs as quiet on high speed as it does on low speed and keeps the basement humidity at 50% while using the hose drain setup. Convenient carrying handles for both the humidifier and the water collection container.

Almost excellent

So far this has been the best Dehumidifier that I have owned (5). Got two of these after ours were affected by the massive recall. Controls are easy to use and read. It is the quietest of all and seems very efficient at pulling the moisture out of our basement. One minus is the hose hook-up: if the unit is ever so slightly tilted towards the front, the water does not flow out the hose but rather into the bucket. Easy enough to prevent, but an annoying design flaw.

Seems to be a good value

So far I'm impressed with this dehumidifier. I have it in a 15 x 15 ft crawl space and it seems to be controlling the humidity at 55% quite nicely. I would recommend this unit, however, it would be nice to have a remote control feature due to my limited access to the unit. Also the Jun 2014 Consumer Reports overlooked the fact that the unit has a continuous running fan. I'm not sure about the benefits of a continuous running fan, but on the down side, I'm sure it costs a bit more to run. I don't think you would be disappointed if you purchased this unit.

Great unit for the price

The unit works great and looks good. I love the roller wheels on it so you can wheel it to where it is required. I would have liked to be able to set a time for it to turn on at a later stage without the fan running all the time when the unit has power. It seems like the unit does not use a lot of electricity and in the DC area it will fill the bucket of water in one hot summer night.

50 Pt. Frigidaire Dehumidifier

This is the second Frigidaire 50 pt. dehumidifier I've bought from WalMart, and I've been totally satisfied with both of them. These are well designed units that operate efficiently and quietly. I especially like the auto restart feature that restarts the unit with the previous settings after a power outage. Overall this appears to be a high quality model with a competitive WalMart price.
