Best product, best value

I owned this product previously and gave it to my daughter for her basement water issues. That one is approximately 7 years old and still In excellent working order. So I definitely wanted another! This newer version has some upgrades that make it even nicer like the water level panel on the front and the hose attachment is longer making easier access. This product easily dries an approximately 700 sq. ft. area. I definitely recommend this dehumidifier.

fantastic

I have only had this dehumidifier for a few days but I am extremely impressed. I read reviews and some said it was noisy. Not at all , it makes about the same noise as a fan and we have to expect some noise. Also some complaints said it threw out a lot of hot air and raised the temp of the room. I also don't have this problem if anything the air is barely warm. I am blown away with how much moisture it remove from my basement. By the second day my basement was already smelling and feeling great. I am going to use the hose attachment for continuous draining but I have not purchased the hose yet so I can't comment on that and it removes so much moisture I need to do this. All around I couldn't be more pleased with this dehumidifier. I have absolutely no issues with this product.

Performs as expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the same unit that I purchased two years ago. I have a rather large 1st floor and live by the water. I recognized that I needed more capacity. Since the first has been performing well, I purchased the same one. They are reasonably quiet, the new one very much so, the older one has a little more condenser (?) sound. The first has a connection to an outside drain, so I never really know how much it produces. I know that the water pipes are dry, as they used to be wet and cause stains on the ceiling from the condensation. On the other side of the area, there is no drain, so I simply empty the bucket twice a day. It fills a bucket every 24h, I empty it twice a day to stay ahead of it. It is convenient as I go in and out of the house right there. Also, I am using the water collected to water the plants in the house, as well as the vegetable garden that we have set up in our make-shift greenhouse (small number of plants, not running a farm - though if we have more need, I would cap the 1st unit and collect water from both). bottom line - I am very pleased and if the initial unit from a couple of years ago ever needs to be replaced, I expect I will get another one.

Replaced our old Nordic dehumidifer

The unit is more quiet than our old (1980's) unit. It has a calibrated digital humidity adjustment and it is +/- 7% accurate (usually over drys the air relative to setting). We monitor this independently with humidity meter. The new unit also appears to use more electric than the old system. We do run the new system via a hose, and the old system was a bucket fill approach. So, there may be more off time when we failed to empty the bucket immediately when full. But $10 more for this first month verses last June 2015 seem a bit costly. Have to give it a few months to be sure. I like the control features and the reusable air filter...a big enhancement to the old style. Our unit is in the basement. It does a great job. We keep it set at 65%; but our monitor show 58-61% range.

Quiet

We have been using this humidifier for a month. It works well and is quiet enough to be background noise. I do empty 2-3 times a day, so we probably should have bought the 70 pint for our 1200 sq foot basement. I like the compact size of the 50-pint, on the other hand. For a couple of months a year, it isn't an issue.

Perfect for a small home

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The humidity got to our old little home this summer and this dehumidifier has been great! It is on wheels so we can easily move it from room to room, the capacity allows us a full day if not two of running before we need to empty. The bucket is easy to remove and replace. Love love love it!

so far so good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had this unit for about a month and seems to be working well. Not sure I understand the humidistat logic though. I set it at a specific level, and the unit starts at that level of humidity, but then it changes. At first I thought that it was reflecting the current humidity, but the number is lower in many cases than I set it at, and the unit is still running. Haven't got the electric bill yet, so still TBD on the effect.

GREAT PRODUCT

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My older Frigidaire dehumidifier has been a very reliable product so I purchased two more of these units. The units have been working very well. I live on the gulf coast so it is important to keep the humidity low in my house and garage. Allergy doctor says to keep the humidity below 50% so mold will not grow in the house.

Poor handle design

As others have reported, the handle is flimsy and cannot support the weight of a full bucket of water. It snapped, the bucket fell and split open so it will no longer hold water without leaking. I called the company, and they are sending a replacement bucket within 7-10 days. We will need to carry the bucket differently in the future and will not be able to use the handle while carrying it. Poor handle design, but great customer service.

Long lasting and durable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second Fridgidaire dehumidifier we have purchased. The first ran for nearly 3 years straight without a problem. We purchased this one a couple of months ago and it works just as well and I expect it to last just as long.
