Very Happy with it

We bought this dehumidifier when our old one (some other off brand) wore out after many years. It works great, amazing how much water is pulled out of thin air! I only wish I had a basement sink so that I could hook up to a drain and not have to carry the full bucket up the stairs twice a day.

Workhorse

We had water damage in our basement, and so a musty smell. We got this just when it happened and there are tips which come with it to help for just that problem. It's pulling tons of water out of the basement but it doesn't heat up the basement like our last one. The size is perfect for our 30x25 basement (partitioned into rooms). The buttons were a little confusing at first, but then I figured it out. It also beeps to change the filter when there's nothing worth cleaning. But still thrilled!

Not too reliable

The warranty is pretty good, but it needs to be. I've had this unit replaced under warranty twice now. The last time it cost me $50 to have the old one "recycled" as the original dealer had discontinued this item. Last week I needed to check the date code on the unit to see if it was involved a recall of 2 million units (?) for possible fire hazards. Fortunately, my unit was outside the suspect range. I have several reasons why I can't recommend this unit.

Quiet and effective

I bought the unit about 3 weeks ago and it has performed well in my basement. Initially as suggested I ran it on high for 3 days continuously to take all the dampness out of the basement, then I switched the fan to low making the unit very quiet compared to the previous unit I owned.

Solid buy!

I bought this unit a month ago cause I needed a replacement for a unit that seemed to work & not work. Due to past purchases of Frigidaire I was confident it would stand up to its name. The unit is quiet on "hi" fan speed and works effortlessly to keep my basement dry & damp-free.

Easy installation! Great features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the dehumidifier about a month ago to replace an off brand one I got at a big box home improvement store several years ago. The Frigidaire unit is much quieter. The installation was a breeze. I have it draining to a floor drain in my basement. The hook up for drain water was really easy and secure unlike my old unit that had a hose connection prone to pulling out. I really like the exhaust air going straight up out the top instead of out the back. Perfect for my situation in a corner.

Reliable and Effective

We bought this for our basement and it works great! We have to empty the bucket about once a day but you can also connect a hose to it if you don't want to worry about emptying it. This is definitely a must if you have a full basement. It has definitely helped eliminate moisture in our basement.

Works well, but

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with the way the dehumidifier works. It dries the air very well. However I wish the tank full light were larger. My old dehumidifier had a big red light which I could notice from the next room. On this one I have to be almost standing over it to see the tiny red light.

my second unit still doesn't work

My first model did not work and was replaced with a second one that also does not work. The store is out of stock of that model, but when they get more in we will try again, Hopefully, the third time is the charm. Otherwise, three strikes and you are out. Also the drawer that hold the water, does not open easily.

The Awsome Dehumidifier

I live in the Southeast and learned quickly that a basement house here just has to have a good functioning dehumidifier in the basement to control the mildew. My first Frigidaire was purchased in the early 80's and lasted about 10 years. That first unit really worked great and ended-up at the dump because it didn't have a filter and I didn't clean out the intake. My second unit was a bit smaller (I saved a few $) but the savings wasn't worth it, I was constantly dumping the water bucket because the unit was too small for the area I was controlling. Even though it was smaller than the first, it still lasted more than 10 years Being a little older now, it is harder to get up and down the steps to the basement so I splurged this past year and bought the larger, 50 pint unit and it is working just as good as the earlier ones and is saving my back. I try to keep my basement at a little less than 40% humidity and this year I purchased a humidity and found that my unit was actually getting 37% or 38% when it was set at 45%, the only thing I have found lacking in the unit.
