It works effectively

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've tried other brands that weren't as effective. Aside from the cost, if you want to eliminate grubs this product works quite well. We only received a sprinkling of rain during the following ten days after my application and I was concerned it wouldn't take effect. It was enough apparently since the grubs are gone (and beetles) and the crows no longer tear up my yard, either. Buy it.

Really disappointed on how muvh water is needed.

Bought this product today to treat grub worms in my yard. Had I realized that I needed 1 inch of water after applying to my lawn, I would have NEVER purchased the product. Does Scott's realize how much 1 inch of water is? Scott's, you really need to work on this..

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts Grubex and appreciate your feedback. Product should be watered in within 24 hours. Ideally, instead of watering it in yourself, apply in mid-spring and allow the spring rains to water it in for you. If no rain, need to lightly water it in within 24 hours. To prevent run off, water with approximately ½ inch water (about 30 minutes with average sprinkler). Apply an additional ½ inch water about 2 days later. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

Big Joke

I bought 5 bags of this stuff and put it on even extra and made sure it was watered like directed. I now have more tunnels than I had before, not sure but must have fed the grubs instead of killing them. This was the biggest waste of time and money for something that was guaranteed.

Lou, we're sorry to hear Scotts GrubEx didn't work as expected. Grubs hatch in June through July, this product is designed to prevent grubs from hatching and will not control mature grubs or prevent animals from borrowing in the lawn. Rids Japanese Beetles

When we first moved to our property, the Japanese Beetles were terrible in mid-summer. They ate every nice planter/flower my wife would put on our deck. I began using Grub Ex yearly and the Beetles haven't been seen since, knock on wood. They're still in the area because I see full bags hanging in yards all summer but our yard has been spared. I can only attribute it to Grub Ex.

This was a great purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a great purchase for me. The product worked as promised, and it was much faster than expected. I have no complaints whatsoever and I would definitely recommend this product . The instructions were clear and concise. My only regret is that I did not try this product years ago.

Scotts GrubEx

This is the best product for eliminating grubs from your lawn. I moved into my current home 8 year ago. At that time I had grubs that killed the grass and moles all over. Their tunnels were very noticeable and the lawn was a disaster. For the first 2 years I tried everything on the market, including trapping these darn moles with no success . On a trip to a local hardware store I purchased (3) bags of Scotts GrubEx . After applying, everything changed with my lawn. No longer did I have grubs and moles but my lawn was revived and looked like a show case lawn. People commented on my "new" picture perfect lawn. For the past 5 years, my lawn has been mole and grub free great lawn

What is in the Bag?

My family has been a Scotts customer since about 1957. First my Dad and now me. There is something particularly annoying about this website. I want to know what the chemical composition is of the products. In most cases this information is not availble.amking me think Scotts is trying to avoid having the customer compare a Scotts product to a competitive product. Would love to hear your explanation for this marketing strategy.

Used twice and the grubs and japanese beetles are still around

I had a new lawn laid last spring (May 2011) and noticed japanese beetles on my grape vines (July through Aug. 2011) plus dead patches on my new grass. I put GrubEx1 on my lawn in Aug. to no avail. Again I put GrubEx1 down last May (end of May 2012) and watered it in. This spring I got rid of the grape vines because the beetles destroyed them last year. For a week now I have noticed beetles flying around my yard and my back yard (new grass last spring) is a disaster... many dead spots. For some reason the beetles have been landing on my two umbrella's on my deck, where I have drowned at least a couple hundred in a bucket of soapy water. The thatch in the grass has become thick because of the grubs eating the grass roots. I'm going to the store today but this time I'm going to try something else.

We are sorry to hear of your experience with Scotts GrubEx1. This is a good product and is labeled for the control of grubs for approximately 4 months if applied at the appropriate time in your area. Timing is an important factor, we recommend putting GrubEx1 down April through July, with the best time being April-May. One reason for the early application is to make sure the active ingredient is washed into the soil. If you apply it too early in the spring, the active ingredient will break down before prime grub hatching time. If you apply it too late it will not be effective on those grubs hatched early in the year. Unfortunately Grubex1 does not kill Japanese Beetle adults, and will not prevent new Japanese Beetles from entering the yard. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience please contact us to see what can be done. This works!

I had a bad problem with moles in my yard. My yard looked as though Bugs Bunny had been traveling underground throughout my yard. I had no idea what was going on. I went to my local home improvement store and they told me about this product. I used this product and my yard looks great now. This is a sweepstakes entry.
