BUYER BEWARE
We have 3 of these toilets... for almost 2 years. After 1 year, all internal tank parts had to be replaced on all of them. Two of the 3 leak all over the floor. We've tried several different seals and they continue to leak. Enough is enough and I just sent my husband out to Home Depot to buy new toilets. Don't waste your money... they are cheap for a reason.
10" Rough-in on the cheap
I have an older house with a 10" rough-in for the toilet. Big Box selection for these is limited and expensive. This is a great alternative. There is no rough-in spec listed, but can attest my rough-in was 10 1/8" from the wall to the center of the waste pipe. The back of the tank and lid just kiss the wall. Could not have been luckier.
Have purchased four of these!
These commodes are fantastic....what a great product! The water saver dual flush is awesome. Plus, I like the ADA compliant height ...perfect ! We also bought the Members Mark elongated seats to go with them which are of great quality also, but sadly, I cannot find them anymore...nor order online! The only negative comment I have is that there is no information as to where you can order replacement parts. Nothing is listed with the instructions If something breaks, this may be a problem. That is why I did not give the "value" as highest rating....if I would have to replace because no parts available, that would be a big disappointment.
works great
Needed a 10 inch rough in for a smaller bath/older home. Toilet did not specify rough in size. Thought I would try it anyway. Fits perfectly. Was easily installed. Did change out the toilet seat as it was a bit flimsy. No problems, nice toilet for the price.
Excellent value and performance
I have remodeled 4 bathrooms in my home. I initially bought 3 of these toilets and was a little apprehensive about the quality because of the low cost. I installed the first one 2 1/2 years ago, 2 more last year and they were easy to install and have performed flawlessly. I was concerned that I would not be able to get replacement parts if anything went wrong, but purchased the 4th one this year and installed it in my last bathroom. I was pleased to see that the last one now carries the Sam's Club brand name and has a replacement parts list and source for them. I did replace the seats with soft-close versions as a matter of personal preference.
Great unit for the price!
My wife a I bought a house and the main toilet was just junk. We were walking through SAMs and saw this. It was a great price but an unknown name. We bought it to try. If it wasn't what we wanted we could use it in the guest bathroom. It installed easy, and was quick. Everything fit like it should and the unit works great. It has the dual flush which I never thought mattered but it seems to work the way it is designed. Pros: if your a guy, the elongated bowl is a must. It's very comfortable. Everything seems to be well made, and the toilet comes with the highest flush rating. It has the dual flush for water conservation. All the parts needed for the install are included. Cons: the supply hose that was included was only 14" which was about 1" too short. I needed to buy a new hose to finish my install. The elongated bowl is hard to find a baby seat for if you need one. The toilet seat is cheap flexible plastic (the only cheap part in the kit). All in all, this toilet is great. I tell everyone how great our deal was. For a company that is not a brand name, this was a gamble that paid off. We are thinking of getting another. I needed to put up a review to show how happy we are with this unit and hopefully help someone make their decision. If you need a new toilet, and don't want to break the bank, buy this one. It's worth it.
Best $ for a quality toilet--everything included
I've installed three of these units, and I'm impressed with the quality and engineering. Everything is included in the kit. the only thing I bought separately is a non-wax ring for installation--just a preference. It comes with a wax ring w/flange. I installed them in homes built in the 60's, and everything lines up perfectly.
Great toliet but,
We had 10 years of wonderful service from this toilet. However, as I began to replace worn out valves I did have to search with a good deal of difficulty for replacement parts. I did find most in “big box stores” but the oval shape of the top dual flush button makes it IMPOSSIBLE to replace when the spring wear out. This is the reason I gave it 4 stars. Very true it is ½ of the price of most toilets makes it a winner. Just expect to replace the whole unit if the button on top needs replacing.
Flush handle placement and flush operation.
If I had of thought about how inconvenient a flush button in the middle of the lid would be I would have never bought this toilet. It take a good hold on the flush button to make it flush completely. My grandchildren have to climb on the toilet to flush it which is dangerous. You can't place anything on the lid because it is more domed and because it has this button in the middle.
Good for the price
I purchased 2 of these last week to replace the very old toilets in my house that always had leaking valves and required the handle to be jiggled after every flush, even after replacing the toilet tank guts several times. So why not go with high efficiency toilets? These were at least $10 cheaper than the hardware big box store versions, and had good ratings so I went with Members Mark. Both were very easy to install. The only issues I had were with the valve fitting in one bathroom being an old odd size that required using the old fill line to the tank (couldn't find an adapter that worked), and then I had to shim them due to uneven tile and one of the flanges being too high. Nothing against the toilets themselves though. All parts were included and the instructions were mostly clear (if you've never installed a toilet before, you might want to look up some YouTube videos to get more details). The reasons for 4 out of 5 stars: 1. The effectiveness of the flush, even from the full flush button, is mediocre. You might have to flush more than once to rinse the sides of the bowl, and even then it might not get everything. This just means either you're negating the "efficiency" factor by using more water for multiple flushes, or you're going to have to clean the bowl more often. 2. The seats are very thin plastic that seem cheap. I anticipate maybe having to replace these in the future due to some breakage. 3. The instructions are adequate but not completely explicit and might not be entirely clear to a novice DIY'er. Overall they work well with only a week's worth of use.
