I have used MacInTax and TurboTax for many years. It has always worked well until this year. When I was trying to login I kept entering the same info only to receive a message saying it was wrong. I double and triple checked the numbers. Finally, on the fourth try the info was accepted.

I've been a TurboTax user for a long time now, and probably will be for life. The Federal tax process is very solid with lots of good hints. The NY State forms are less intuitive, less consumer friendly, with less helpful hints. This is the weak point in the whole process.

I have used Turbo Tax every year since it came out many years ago and I am pleased with the product. 2017 I moved to a non tax state but Turbo Tax was relatively easy to use even with all the changes I had in my tax situation. Now next year 2018 might be different since the standard deductions are changing so for a lot of people it might not pay to itemize.

I have used TurboTax for more years than I can remember (>20 years). I felt completely confident that TurboTax 2018 was recording my data accurately and providing me with the most accurate return possible. I received a much larger than average refund, even though I am retired and only receiving social security, a pension, and had some very minimal investment transactions.

I have used TurboTax for many years. I have found it to be much better than other tax-preparation software. Nonetheless, I always have to edit the data for my Schedule E, as the software does not handle my particular case very well. Although TurboTax could use a little improvement, I am still a loyal fan/user.

I love TT. My only complaint is the section on State Taxes. First it tells me that they are not required in Florida unless you have rental property and I have none. Then it repeatedly asks me if I am sure that I don't want to submit State tax returns. Also, I would like to get a subscription for each year but you charge far more for it than the product costs in stores.

It's our first time to have 529 plan usage to report. I worked on TurboTax in stages and had difficult time inputting college expenses later. It appeared as if 529 is part of our income to be taxed. Had to review all work: to get expenses into program and find we weren't taxed. Older Turbo Tax programs easier to use!

If you follow the Step by Step for entry of the 1098T, there is a link buried in a form to enter the amount you actually paid. The 1098T is always different. If you don't find this link, you will end up paying tax on part of a 529 transfer that is supposed to be tax free.

The program is nice, but there are some areas where you answer a question & if you need to change your mind, it can be difficult to find & change back. I also own an S Corp where I'm the only employee & they don't have a combination program to do both Business & Personal like they do when your self employed under a schedule C. Definitely a drawback.

Have been using Turbo Tax for years. I prefer the CD software. Last year I deviated and tried doing it online, it cost more and I found it very aggravating. Bought the CD and am happy again. Only problem I had this year with CD was during download to laptop I had problems with updating, importing etc. I shut down and returned to it the next day and everything went fine. I would recommend Turbo Tax CD Premier.
