The federal return is great, as far as I can tell. The state sometimes asks very general questions about whether "any amounts need to be adjusted because the state rules differ". There is no attempt to go step by step among the things that might differ --- so it's really not very helpful -other than filling in the form.

This year I wasted an hour trying to fix a glitch with the address that I didn't create. Somehow a bug kept redirecting me to fix the street address over and over again and wouldn't let me file. I'm up at 1:10 am frustrated beyond belief to type this. Finally, I re-entered all my personal information again 3 times before it took somehow. After several years of no problems, this year's version sucked. I won't use Turbo Tax again.

I can not believe a company like Intuit would put a product on the market that is not ready for prime time. The feel is improved, but the function is not up to the feel. Prime example: If you have a partial year on ACA, you can not enter the data. Once you dig deep deep enough you find instructions for getting into Admin mode so you can modify the system to save in spite of the code rejecting it. WRONG!!! A few years ago, Intuit released code with less function than the same name package had the previous year creating a major turmoil. This year you slipped in a price increase that was hidden until you went to submit the forms. All finished and then I see a note about having to spend more money to submit on line. I got the package because I desired to submit on line. These kinds of actions rarely happen in competitive markets. Do you think your customers are stupid and do not care that you release the package with known bugs and no fix?? I can not believe that a well know and good reputation company would release a product like you released this year.. You must be looking for an exit from this highly competitive business. The catastrophe to your reputation is exacerbated by the fact that you knew the problem and it would not take much code to circumvent the problem

We use turbotax every year and have liked it very much. It's nice that the 1 state is included. This year we wanted to e-file our Federal taxes, and mail our State taxes. The program did not allow us to do this. we e-filed our federal and chose mail state. after e-filing our federal it said we were done. could not find a way to print info on the state taxes as in the past years. So we had to pay to e-file our state taxes when we did not want to do. We already pay enough for this program we should not have to pay more to file our taxes. thank you Pamela Christenson

(1) I downloaded TXF forms from my financial advisor, some for me, some for my wife. On many screens it was not clear which document I was viewing. Your program should have a title showing what document I'm looking at. This should the document name. (2) It is very tedious clicking the "back" button (which I did often). Your should let me attach a user "bookmark" to any screen and give me a "go to bookmark" button. There should be a "return from bookmark" button. There should be a stack of bookmarks because one bookmark may lead to another bookmark and so fourth. I am pleased with Turbo Tax. I've used it since some time in the 1990s.

This year's return seemed more complex and time consuming. The import tax documents from all of the financial institutions that I use (3) did not work correctly and required manual discovery, research, and entry. State tax for AZ failed on form 8949 and asked for a correction. I have no idea what form 8949 is and when I went to the form was not enlightened in any way so I guessed.

Bought Turbotax Premier, got through the tax portion, then simply wanted to pay the state filing charge with my credit card. Impossible. Been in loop after loop after loop. Absolutely incredibly bad process. I would warn anyone, just print out the forms and send them in, and avoid this hassle.

Last year I need to file an appeal of Wisconsin review of our taxes because TT incorrectly report half of the stock sales as being due to Wisconsin transaction. (I am a non resident) I corrected the amount due by an adjustment but it set off bell is Wisconsin. This year there is a box added that allows me to correct them, but not very obvious. Would trip up someone not looking for it like a first time filer. I hope the federal section has been updated and corrected since last year the IRS sent me a check for $495 as a refund due to an incorrect calculation. That is the IRS statement, not mine.

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years for my tax return and for my parents' tax return. I feel confident that I am being guided based on the current tax law. The first year I used Turbo Tax for my parents's tax return, I entered their tax information as a "double-check" of what my Dad had filled out manually. We were able to find a significant calculation error in the manual forms and were able to correct it before it might have cost my parents penalties on taxes not paid on time. Ever since that, I have also been doing their taxes each year. We all have such peace of mind that everything is being filed as accurately as possible. It is so easy I cannot imagine going back to manually filling out forms and hoping that we have covered everything.

Turbo Tax did not calculate deduction for IL State Tax correctly. I work in IL and live in WI. I do not have to pay any IL State Tax and should have gotten a full refund. Turbo Tax had me paying IL State Tax which is a MAJOR ERROR! Good thing I researched this on my own via internet or I would have lost approx. $1,000 for 2017. I am going to have to amend my 2016 return to get the IL State Tax back that Turbo Tax had me pay last year. Please update your software!
