easy to use.

import feature is fantastic especially if you have stock investments. tremendously wonderful that you have it. superb. I wish the k1 would import also and the supplemental questions upon review re the imports were not needed as sometimes it is unclear how to answer them.

Adequate but could be better

I've used TurboTax for several years with general success, but it is far more painful than necessary the last few years. I got stuck needing to go into forms to fix random errors that appeared when doing my Federal return. And for my Utah State return, it was so basic that it didn't know that I had just received a federal credit for installing solar panels and didn't automatically ask me about the credit for Utah! Fortunately, I knew what the credit was and was able to enter it into my state return. TurboTax could be so much better by providing better explanations, for example,of why a credit may not be available.

Still buggy

Generally a very easy to use program and ability to follow data flow. But still has some major bugs. Submitted questions and responses were work arounds that didn't fix the problem. Had to go to forms and do manually. NOT what I paid for. Spurious S-Corp kept showing up, even after deleting the errant worksheet. TT does NOT know how to handle self-employment health care premiums bought through an exchange. The 1095-A update bug is ridiculous. Can't even sufficiently do the manual workaround.

Turbotax and K-!s

I like the Turbotax product and have used it for years. This is my first year of filing K-1s and it was far more painful than my usual Turbotax experience. It actually handled domestic K-1s well. I had one foreign K-1 (Canada), and my experience filing it was dreadful. The error messages I received were clearly incorrect, as they referenced fields where I had made no entry. I used the support community without finding a solution. I had to file for an extension solely because of this K-1. I finally just skipped some of the (hopefully) less critical data and submitted my return. My experience was dreadful to the point that I immediately sold my remaining foreign partnership that issued a K-1. Keep in mind that I still intend to use Turbotax again next year, rather than pay someone else to wrestle these. But this is one area where Intuit should pick up their gain.

Turbo Tax 2017

I'm a long time user of Turbo Tax since at least 2005. I've manged to gain some additional knowledge along the way and have even done some returns for family members. Now while I do recommend TT highly I think it's time they joined the cloud and started making a few things easier for their customers. I would like to see all future versions of our tax returns saved online in an Intuit Account. This would prevent any catastrophic problems with our computers. Ideally all work and records could exist online AND in our home computers if desired. I think a little more effort in getting personal help could be stepped up. A 90-minute wait time is pretty long! Hopefully my Google searches gave me reliable info "cause that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

no comment

After using Turbo Tax for over 25 years I have decided to switch to another program next next year due to difficulties in printing the past few years. Not user friendly at all. As far as the tax program is concerned I am very satisfied but not willing to deal with the printing problem.

Gets tougher

Doesn't seem to have good professional advice for the next year about what to do with a second home being rented out just to keep it from killing you the next year. Is it better to rent out your second home for a fair market price or just use it for no profit? This was a little confusing.

Makes things easier but some glitches

I have a love/hate relationship with TurboTax. On the one hand it's FAR easier than doing them manually - but some issues really are annoying: 1) data transfer from Quicken is not complete and "Categories" are not well-coordinated, so some manual work is still involved; 2) investment income import is spotty, you have to keep your calculator handy & help info for that subject is...well, VERY slim; 3) it gets stuck on odd things - example: requiring an employer zip code to E-file when there IS no employer, online advice incorrect, no apparent workaround - then it suddenly proceeds although no changes were made. An hour wasted for no apparent reason. So - it works fine, but not without some head-banging!

As Easy As Always

Following the step by step made this years return as simple as it has always been. I upgraded to Premier just to play safe as I had 401K cash out, spouse passing away and merging accounts. 1099-B info was a little confusing but help screens cleared up most. Thanks for your assistance.

Medical Entries a Shortcoming

I've used Turbotax Premium for many years. It has never failed me. This year, for the first time, I had a sufficient number of medical expenses to make it worth my time to include for the added deductions. I had all of my expenses ready to enter and discovered that the ENTRY BOXES for Medical Expenses were not set-up like many of the other ENTRY BOXES where you would Double-Click for detailed entries. Why? Unless I did something wrong, this is a serious deficiency.
