I like Turbo Tax but it's just so frustrating to review a section and find that everything you thought you had answered was unmarked and you had to redo them. And last year was a very difficult year for us and while I filed our taxes with Turbo Tax I failed to keep a copy. And when I started this year's taxes my husband didn't realize he hadn't downloaded the free software but instead had got online. So I tried doing our taxes thinking I was using the free software when I was online! Finally got that figured out and went to the software and completed them. But without a copy of our previous year's taxes, could not do the free filing at all. So I upgraded only to realize after the fact that I was using a different user id and password from last year so I could not access anything! So now I have to cancel the purchase. Been most confusing this time around!

All was easy to use except the importing of my investment tax document. I had a hard time trying to find out how to import my documents. It would be very helpful to have documentation readily available to assist people on importing tfx files into turbo tax priemier.

I have been doing my taxes on TurboTax since MSDOS and ChipSoft. It continues to incrementally improve even when the underlying taxes become more and more complex and convoluted. This year I had to file in six states. I completed Federal and all six states on TurboTax. I do not envy your current task of deciphering the NEW tax law.

Turbotax is just great and indispensable. I do have one suggestion about employee stock awards such as RSUs. The software assumes shares were withheld to pay the taxes with zero gain or loss on the transaction. In this case they are not shown on the 1099B, and the Turbotax writeup is correct. However, the shares are valued as of the grant date, and if the vendor, such as E-Trade, does not get around to selling them until a later date, then there will normally be a gain or loss and then the sale will be on the 1099. In this case, one does not enter the pro-rata shares sold for taxes in the net shares that are eventually sold.

I tried another "best" tax program but was so frustrated with the program that I bought TurboTax that year to complete my taxes. The Premier edition made inputting my investment tax information easy which was not the case before using TurboTax Premier. The program walks you through the Federal and State tax forms in an easy to understand way. I will use this program every year.

I've used TurboTax for several years after using H&R Block tax software for several years. While I now prefer TurboTax since our tax situation has become more complicated after moving into retirement. This year I met an insurmountable software problem. After trying many, many of the suggestions on TT's website, I as not able to solve the issue. I filled out a long and tedious form on line with much detail regarding the PC, but after 3 days of trying things I finally was able to reload everything to another PC and was able to send the 2 returns immediately. I have no clue what caused the problem with our other PC.

I have used TurboTax for several years and for my family and find it an easy to use program. It follows the format that a real person would use if you were meeting with them and reviewing your taxes. I especially like being able to flip into the forms so that I can see what and where everything is going. As long as there are taxes, I will be using TurboTax

As always, OUTSTANDING! Turbo tax has been my preferred method for about 20 years or more. I like that it keeps my data from last year and immediately transfers it to this current year to get started. All my rental houses, and usual income sources are already there!

All in All this years Turbo Tax was great. I was able to get to all of the forms required and enter data with less effort than previous years. However, when I was reviewing the stock entries, I noticed that something was out of wack. One of the stocks had imported incorrectly and it was showing a huge loss. I was able to correct the entry but if I hadn't I'm sure the IRS would have been sending me a letter.

Received an error message that total interest needed to be entered but the program didn't indicate where to enter it. Also, received an error message that the small business exemption box needed to be checked after I had deleted Schedule C and C-1 (which I don't even need). Eventually I was able to determine how to fix these errors.
