Great program but... having purchased a rental house in another state, the program isn't providing correct info to my state of residence to allow me to efile. And I can't correct the error -- turbo tax keeps putting the incorrect information back in. On the upside, they refunded my efile fee without issue. Still, this is my 5th year of using turbo tax, and my first issue. A bit disappointing.

Every year we need to include retired clergy housing as a negative number on Form 1040, line 21 and include an explanation. Then we must override a line on the Mass. form as it does not accept a negative number. This means the state form cannot be e-filed. Very time-consuming and frustrating. Please include retired clergy housing allowance in future versions. Thank you.

I was late (by twenty five days) in transferring money from my IRA to a non IRA account. Turbo Tax did indeed direct me to IRS Form 5329. This form informs the IRS of your error and calculates the added tax due to your error. My question is, after completing Form 5329 where in Turbo Tax do you input the added tax? I found no such instructions.

I have done my taxes for years by myself. I first tried a tax preparation program last year. It was very confusing and difficult to use. I tried turbo tax this year to see if it was any easier. IT WAS SO EASY!! I was done in a few hours. I can't say enough good things about it.

I thought I had sent everything by email on payments to both Fed and State but as I continued I am unsure State was sent as I got a payment coupon for state. Which only had payment by check or Money Order. Please clear this up and make it more understandable if paying only Federal or both Fed and State and a confirmation of both. Thank you

I've use Turbo Tax for many years and feel it is better than competing products. I am an absolute techno-moron but still have no problems with the software. My biggest complaint is the program requires printing all forms, and does not allow users to select which forms to print. I also cannot figure out how to save the pdf files. In prior years, this was easy.

2017 Version does not automatically enter the CSA 1099R amount from the Federal form to the NYS Tax Form IT-2017, Page 1 of 4 to line 26. AS a result the program figures a state tax amount instead of no tax. NYS has no State income tax on a federal pension. The CSA 1099R box was checked off. This never happened before. I had to correct it manually.

I've been using this tax software for many years and it takes care of putting everything where it belongs by simply answering the questions it asks. The only thing I think should be changed is that for some questions you have to answer before it will let you go ahead. For myself that's fine. But I do my children's taxes and don't know all the answers. Each time I have to stop, get the answer and then go only as far as the next question. It would be easier to be able to go thru the entire process to see all the questions that will need answers. Get all the answers at one time. Fill it in and be done.

TT would not submit my tax return because of a problem with the K-1 form. However the instructions on what I needed to do were far from helpful. I have a PhD in finance and used to be a CPA (in audit not tax) so I am not a stupid person but I still had to waste 2 hours trying to figure out what to do to fix this. I wanted to just file as is since the amount was trivial but TT won't allow that either. Very stressful on April 16!

I was an original MacInTax user in the 80's and have been a consistent TurboTax user ever since. Intuitive interfaces, menus and guides made this year's filing a breeze, again. The online references and guides allow one to go as deep into the tax law and policies as desired. I liked the preview information on the 2018 Tax Law change for standard deductions. The error check and filing process was straight forward as always. Great product.
