It was difficult finding some of the things I needed to do. This included sale of the house, certain data that was not downloaded on my 1099 forms. These were only some of the problem I had more trouble this year Than any other year. Next year with all the new tax laws I'm not sure TurboTax will be my best choice

I was under the wire, being last day to file. Started last night, 4-16-2018. Yes, I need to start earlier next year. With some unexpected illness and accident of my husband, I was wondering if I just might need to file an extension. So, I started actually entering as if I would finish and be able to e-file. And, was so happy that Turbo Tax helped me actually file each form needed and on 4-17-2018. I feel so good having my taxes e-filed and on time without needing to file any extensions! Thank you Turbo Tax! You are worth everything I have paid over the years to have the assistance and reviews at my fingertips! I will certainly continue to file our taxes with this program!

I have been a dedicated user of TurboTax ever since my last human tax preparer messed up my taxes (over 7 years ago) to the point I got audited, owed a good amount of money back to the IRS and she was no where to be found to account for her "filings". Once I got the IRS squared away, I decided to try my hand at doing my taxes myself. I picked up TurboTax for my particular needs in 2010 or 2011 and saw how easy it was to plug in your information and file. If you can read and follow simple instructions, TurboTax is a breeze. I just filed my 2017 tax returns and, once again, they were a piece of cake. No more sleepless nights worrying about a jack-legged tax "preparer" messing up my taxes. Now, I sleep well at night and rest easy knowing the IRS or the State Tax Man will not send their audit letters or garnish my wages. TurboTax is rock solid and there is no need for me to consider switching back to a human tax preparer when I can simply plug in my info, file away and easily retrieve my paperwork in case of an audit and be done with it in an hour or less.

The basics are easy to do - standard income, deductions, etc. The more complicated items, e.g. MLP's, rental properties, take a bit of time. There doesn't seem to be a way to specify short term vs. long term gains for the same equities and it takes some time to figure out what to do. There were times I had to go back manually and enter some information since the interview part did not walk us through that.

It said that my capital loss carryover from a year prior in my Federal return is x amount, and it asked me to provide the same for the State return. My state return for the prior year was provided, why didn't the program find it instead of asking me. I could not find it either so I put zero for both, hence my return was about $165.00 less.

Did the "claim SS" in 2017 and wife retired from work too - wondered how how much that would complicate things but happily discovered no frustration. A little more involved submitting the return with added security - but not complaining (got to see the wife's weight on her driver's license (sly smile)). Keep doing what you are doing and I'll use you next year if it's meant to be.

Have been using Turbo Tax for 10 years. Love it. Makes filing easy and simple. Step by step instructions. They constantly update Turbo Tax. I use Premier because of investments. All the info from our accounts is automatically transferred to Turbo Tax if I choose to do so. Great software for a reasonable price. Highly recommend Turbo Tax. No more dreaded tax days.

I have used Turbotax for over 15 years. Had a friend who had used a few years previous and entered my Tax Accountant prepared returns using his software and matched to the penny. I currently use Premier and it handles my 4 K1s and stock accounts with no problems.

This years version was not up to par. It acted like it imported last years, but a lot of important info wasn't there. It cost me a lot of time to look it up and put it back in. And the records I have had from year to year were lost for depreciation on my rental. I couldn't compare this year to last which has always been a nice feature. I've been a fan for 20 years but I may not buy again next year.

You should require your programmers to own a shares of some MLPs and do a partial sale every year until they straighten out the handling of getting the information correctly inputted in the Federal return (capital gains, ordinary gains, and AMT adjustments). I don't like having to trick your program to get it done. It will go much faster if they have to fight through their own returns with this issue.
