turbo tax (premier-2017) does not handle farm cash rents well. It asks you if you have Farm Rental Income, then it wants you to go to Rents and Royalties, but there is nothing there to continue Farm Rents. Turbotax wants to handle it as a real estate rental (housing for example) and does nothing to automaticly direct you to, or link it to, the proper farm rental form 4835 which is key to all farm income and expense. I found that going to "Forms" and directly to the form 4835 was the only way this could be done... then you have to find and manually link the 4895 to the proper 1099-misc form. All this could (should) be done in interview, quickly and with less confusion than plodding through all of Rents and Royalties.....

TT works well, I just had one issue. TT didn't ask me for the amount overpaid last year that was applied to this year. I didn't use TT last year and it didn't prompt me for this info. Fortunately I noticed it and entered it on the form. Otherwise, no complaints except the cost difference compared to the others.

I have been using Turbo Tax for quite a few years now and majority of it is helpful and user friendly. This year I had a new tax situation. I did a like-kind exchange and came across some problems. I checked the wrong box and went back to correct it after doing research, and the program would not let me delete forms 4797 and 8824. After spending hours trying to correct this, I just re-entered everything from the beginning. Uggghhhhh.... Also, I had problems deleting a flagged error message after I corrected it many times. It kept appearing again, so I just left it.

The process was a lot easier than I imagined. I did it at my own pace which allowed me time to fish for and gather information, especially expenses I forgot about. This is the first time I did my own taxes. I love the "hand holding" process and step by step guide. I felt safe, secure and in control. I never imagined doing taxes could be a pleasant experience. Being a little dense, I found myself fumbling around to get my state income tax forms printed after E-filing my 1040s. I'm wondering if TurboTax and make it obvious for confused individuals like me to directly have my state forms printed after E-filing my 1040s.

I've been using TurboTax for many years, and value the desktop version because I am able to review the forms before submitting my return. The year to year comparison is so helpful, and the support features are two of the reasons why I continue to be a TurboTax fan. This year I switched from a PC to a Mac, and the transition, including transferring over my last year's tax data, was seamless.

When I got to the area to post my US Savings bonds redeemed, I wasn't ready so I continued to the next area. I received a message: "Because you have not entered any US Treasury interest, you have no US Treasury bond interest to exclude. We'll delete info previously"....and so on. When I was ready to post my savings bonds interest and did, I still received that message even after I posted the interest. I'm not sure if I paid state taxes on this because of this message. Can I get a reply on this matter about paying state taxes on my US Savings Bond interest?

Say I've entered a 1099-INT and I want to go back through and double-check my entries. Turbotax forgets what I have entered on most checkboxes and option buttons, requiring I re-select the correct checkboxes and option buttons. Annoying and probably unnecessary!

I am a 20 + year turbo tax user so I am obviously a fan of the software. It is easy to use and even though my taxes are complex they make it pretty easy. I tried to switch to online from download this year and didn't know until I was done that it cost more (ex. State not included) and I had to log in as a different user to do my kids taxes where download it is included. Also, don't pester so much about upgrading while using the product

I have used Turbo Tax for over 25 years and it has been a software that I enjoy using. I am an accountant and I can follow the software with ease most times. Turbo Tax Premier was especially helpful this year since I had a capital gain on sale of farmland inherited.
