The same problem that I encountered last year still exists. When I enter a dollar amount paid this year for last years taxes, the worksheet generates two entries and necessitates a manual correction to get the correct dollar amount on the Federal worksheet. This could create a problem for someone who takes turbotax as 100 percent correct. It still requires a manual look-through to determine whether everything was handles correctly. Please take a look at this situation and get it corrected by next year.

Turbo Tax appears to be capable of handling a virtually limitless number of input forms. It handles in-state and out of state tax-exempt income. It handles the complexities of Limited Partnership K-1s. However in almost 20 years of use I have had to override the same number on my state return every time. So it pays to proof key totals.

I've used turbo tax for many years and enjoy its ease of use. It's become a little harder now that we have kids in college. There were several questions and answers about how to input the data for the 1098-T and I still had problems with that. I believe if you can follow instructions and have a basic understanding of taxes, most people can perform.

I had not filled out all the boxes from the 1099R form. If I had not gone through and reviewed this specific section in the investments section I would have lost out on an additional $200 federal and $800 state refund. Intuit should have a fix for this, otherwise a professional tax preparer might be my best option next year.

Some questions aren't clear as to what you should input. For example; a question concerning local estimated taxes paid for the year lead you to wonder if you should include the overpayment for the previous year that was credited to the following year in this number or not, since a prior question already asked if there were prior year refunds credited to this year's estimated taxes. After some looking around, it's found out that you do include this in the total estimated taxes paid. The question should tell you to include this amount so you don't have to wonder. Also, sometimes the program asks if you completed another form or included a line item in last year's taxes. Since I downloaded last year's TurboTax info in this program, it should know the answers to these questions. It also asks if I need to fill out other forms. I don't know. That's why I'm using TurboTax. It should tell me if I need to fill out other forms.

Horrible experience. Account got lost and re-establishing got caught in some kind of loop. Changed passwords many times to no avail. I have no idea what my current password is. I know the account number. You say it has been deactivated. Please give some guidance before we have to start over for 2018. Thanks. FSB

I used to be proud to do my own taxes. Then life went beyond one W-2 and standard deductions; and tax laws got inevitably more complex. I tried Turbotax on a friend's recommendation and haven't looked back. Even though it took me five hours this year, I dread to think where I would have been with pencil and paper.

The program is nice, but there are some areas where you answer a question & if you need to change your mind, it can be difficult to find & change back. I also own an S Corp where I'm the only employee & they don't have a combination program to do both Business & Personal like they do when your self employed under a schedule C. Definitely a drawback.

I have been using turbotax since 2003 to keep track on my rental properties, they do all the calculations and carry forward any losses. It also figures the proper calculations when we sell a property on a land contract. I will continue to use turbotax in the future.

I have been using TurboTax and its successor product from Parson's Tech for more than 20 years. The program is intuitive and leaves nothing to chance. Although I am an experienced tax preparer, this comprehensive program leaves nothing to chance as all tax items are either self evident and when you have a question it is so easy to research the topic. My only wish is that the price of the program would stabilize.
