I have used Turbotax for anumber of years and for the most part I am happy with it. My negatives are the limits placed on the number of 1099's you may enter. 20 is not adequate and seems it could be easy to expand. I also would like estimated State Tax payments to be part of the State Tax process. If you don't have enough to itemize on your federal return the state estimated taxes are missed.

Tiny fonts required me to us a screen-magnifier. This only works over a small area, so constantly moving the magnifier around was very painful. The help windows had an even tinier font!! It was cumbersome going thru all the Intuit-stroking screens that had no other purpose.

Turbo tax is the most trusted program I have used consistently over time. regardless of purpose. Every time I come up with a new weird tax quetsion the answer is here on in the help section. I would ask that the sale of a rental property get its own dedicated walk through with diagrams and soothing music to quell my wife's anxiety. It may help other folks. but we made it through. I like the new security measures and I would recommend that TurboTax work out a security arrangement with the IRS where forever-turbotaxers like me would demand that the IRS only take returns from the TurboTax program. That way our identities could not used to file via another method. That process could only be undone by a phone call to the IRS by the filer. That could be a useful security measure as I don't see us using another tax system for the foreseeable future. Many others might agree.

I have a number of K-1 forms to enter every year and TurboTax does a really terrible job of handling this information. When I get errors during the final review, the details are nearly impossible to decipher so I end up taking somewhat random stabs at resolution. Not exactly the best way to handle tax details that may be audited!

By using my Quicken to download my accounts and track my tax items during the year, my input and reviewing within TurboTax was really helpful to me. Being able to import my financial investments from their website to my TurboTax on my computer was especially nice this year.

Ive been using turbotax for years, it seems to be getting easier (or maybe I'm just getting so familiar with it). My one suggestion: Make trust & estate return software available for MACs! I always have to switch to a different vendor to do those returns.

Program will be much more user friendly if it drops back to the section you just finished within the Income or Deductions heading instead of reverting back to the first item in Income or Deductions. It is very annoying to have to scroll all the way back down to the next section you need to review/work on when you are near the last items in each section.

I have been using turbo tax for a long as I can remember, and I am 54 years old. I have always found it easy to use and have always found it to be dependable and accurate. My returns have always been accepted and have never be audited. Thank you turbo tax.

All the time I saved using turbotax I gave back at the end. Couldn't direct deposit my refund. Couldn't e-file. No direct access to customer support. Extremely frustrating, even though everything eventually got done. One would think you don't care at all about customer satisfaction.

I have been using TurboTax for many years and have only rarely had to ask an accountant or tax accountant to explain issues. But, after many years of tax filing I still dread the time I have to enter company stock sales. All the different versions of company stocks (FMVs, cost, ordinary income, PSU, RSU, ESPP) and where they go is complicated. Once you figured it out you will have to go through the interview process over and over again - painful. Having spreadsheets offered by Intuit once you have a single interview process for one kind entered (a "pop-up" asking you if you have other of the same kind) would help a lot. The existing attachment option where you then can sum up all sales of the same kind in TT does put the onerous task of calculating the correct tax on the user.
