All you have to do is tell the consumer what will happen based on which path they follow, e.g., if you do this, then your tax will go up/down. Improve backward navigation, so I don't have to go through each screen, i.e., show me what I have entered and take me directly to that page with just one click. Be more informative about home offices. I ran past the deadline for filing because I saw the deduction analysis and thought I should delete the home office only to find my tax went up. I then had to re-enter everything for the home office. BTW, what happens when I sell my home? Is there a tax effect because I took the deductions for a home office? TurboTax needs to focus on the presentation of entered data as well as in-stream guidance.

TT has saved me a ton of time and worry the last several years. It's easy step through screens make entering your tax data simple, while the ability to check the rendered forms gives you piece of mind. Plus a couple of times in the last few years, I've asked a question or two of one of their experts and always got a quick insightful response. I'm not gonna say that TT has me looking forward to tax time every year, but I certainly don't dread it anymore!

I used to do taxes and I loved the Lacerte software (by Intuit) so now I use TT. It's too bad it can't remember your password but other than minor hassles it's pretty darn good. I don't let the system guide me but I have found that there are places for everything I need to enter. I will continue to use TT until someone shows me something better!

Being a "newbie", I took advantage of the help provided by your professionals. All but one call were very good, informative and helpful. I did write a concern notice to Intuit regarding the one call that didn't go very well and I actually felt quite untrusting since they had gotten control over my mouse which no-one else was able to do that.

Two areas in particular: 1. Why ask repeatedly about filing state taxes, when I tell you up front that I live in Texas? 2. Also, why suggest repeatedly that I/we consider an IRA, when you know that we're both over 70 years old? Your excellent program could still use some streamlining.

I have been using TurboTax for at least 15 or 20 years. It has come a long way towards simplifying a process that has become increasingly complex each and every year. It is hard to imagine that the process could be made easier unless you are filing a short form return.

Had very detailed returns with many decisions to be made. Guidance was accurate and helped step me through each section. Could also look at worksheets to gain more information on how to proceed. Was completely satisfied that Turbotax found all the deductions available to me in my situation.

These comments apply to NJ 1040 electronic submission for: FLI reported by employer in box 17 along with State Inc tax. This must have happened to many as yyou all had instructiuons to remove it an d report it in box 14. Also on Tax Exempt Bond interest if more than one, instructions said to enter " Various" if more than one. However for e file - review said must enter a number. I entered one of the TE bond CUSIP numbers however there are actually 10 diff #'s. We'll see what happens?

I'm not sure why, but the program forgot to ask me about my State Tax Input. I had to go back and Re-enter by selecting State Tax. I think it might be related to leaving a section to correct an error (in this case a W2 that I should have not started since it was a 1099 R Retirement Statement). But, I don't know since when I came back I didn't note where the program left me.

I have been using TurboTax for over a decade. When it first came out, it was amazing. However, it has not kept up with the times. I am continuing to find the program tedious. Surprisingly, it is not hooked up to various organizations for the W-2. Also, I have to type unnecessary information repeatedly.
