The tool is relatively easy to use and fast. I didn't have any real problems but it was scary that as I was e-filing (and it was just about to do the non-stoppable transmit) I got a failure notice about needing an update. I was able to get that resolved in minutes but it seems the update check should happen before you can hit e-file.

Unless you are a tax professional and keep up with all the on-going tax changes, this is by far the easiest way to assemble your return. There are so many items to cover, most people would overlook a lot of them, whereas Turbotax is very thorough and comprehensive, which instills a great sense of relief knowing your return is complete.

In previous years, it wasn't obvious where to enter my state estimated tax payments. This year (2017) it was. Now I might need to sent corrected forms for previous years, to get the federal tax deduction for my state taxes paid. Secondly, as a NH resident, is was easier to skip the NH state form and get the MA state form (included), unlike previous years. Thanks for fixing those issues.

When I got ready to file my return electronically, it told me that I was missing some information, but didn't tell me where. then when I looked through the forms, I found that it wanted me to enter the "interest" for our married 25 year old daughter. She has been paying her own taxes for a few years now.

there were deductions missed on medical not being forwarded into the state program it said delete the return and start over it would not let me do that also n.j. disability and unemployment contributions were over the max amount allowed by the state but only caught at the end when i was transmitting the filing.all i could do was change the numbers to what the program says was the right numbers even though my W2 had the original ones and there was no way to change it after i made the changes. i noticed my return money had decreased. very disappointed this year

I hate this time of year, it is very stressful for me. I'm one of those people who wants to do things correctly but am never sure if I accomplish my goal. I must say with TurboTax I feel as if I have done things correctly. Turbo Tax checks the math, puts the numbers in the right places and for the most part is understandable. I hate tax time but love Turbo Tax.

I will probably try another tax program next year. Each year this program get worse and worse about guiding you through the tax maze. Multiple times it would drop me into the form with no details what is was looking for and no description of what the forms field was asking. The guides tour is more of a suggested tour with too many unanswered questions.

I've used for many years and have seen improvement continually. Like the print center form option that was missing in prior years. I'd like to see STEP BY STEP returning to what was being worked on instead of the top of the list each time. Painful!

I have been using TT premier for some years as the data transfer from the previous year to the new year is quick and accurate. Instructions are complete and can find references to subjects you may not be familiar with. I typically have a large number of brokerage transactions and the import of 1099 and other forms from the broker saves me much time. They have interface with a large number of brokerage firms so yours is likely to be on the list.

I used to pay a tax preparer to do my taxes, but I gave him all the information and he filled in the blanks. Now for much less money, I have been doing it myself for about 10 years. I love looking to see that I am in the green area for likelihood of an audit.
