Not melting

I have used these for years. Now in the last few bags I have bought don't melt. I have tried melting in the microwave a d also in the oven with various recipes but all they do is crumble. There are these numbers on the bag. "Best by Nov 2016 , 43345748 1 5,09:21" I know one thing, until these are fixed I am buying a different brand.

Thanks for posting a review. We're sorry to hear that you've been having an issue with your morsels not melting correctly. Nestlè Toll House chocolate is heat sensitive and has a low melting point. At higher temperatures the sugar in the chocolate also melts and scorches, which can cause the chocolate to seize, or become grainy and hard to work with. Small amounts of moisture can also cause the chocolate to seize; for example moisture from a wooden spoon or steam from a double boiler. To correct this, try adding 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, canola oil, corn oil, or shortening. If that does not make the chocolate smooth and workable, you can add 1 teaspoon more. We hope this helps! Please be on the lookout for an email from our team.,Nestle Baking Team,Jennifer, clientresponse

Don't taste the same

I've been baking nestles original golden blondies receipe for over 30 years in old nestles cookbook the chocolate chip have changed not as chocolate tasting I don't remember seeing corn syrup in back! Also where are they made its distributed in ohio but where are they actually made. I'm not going to ruin my classic recipe I'll start buying another brand I'm told Kirlkland is very good and tastes like old toll house morsels!

Very disappointed

I have always used nestle milk chocolate chips for making peanut butter cups. Bought two 23oz bags, using one per batch. First round chocolate won't melt just turned out stiff and grainy. Almost like edible clay. I added 4 tbsp of real butter as per my recipe. Melting over hot water. Looking for a fix hopefully I can find one. Have you changed something in your recipe? Not the same trusted product I've known my whole life.

Tried the recipe on the back - fantastic!

I don't normally bake with Milk Chocolate Morsels I received this product for free for the purpose of my review and thought I would try recipe on the back of the bag... Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Now I love me an oatmeal cookie and have had them before with semi-sweet morsels but never milk chocolate chips. Let me say I will be using milk chocolate chips from now on! Even my husband who much prefers dark chocolate love these cookies. I will definitely make again. As stated above I received this product for free for the purpose of my review. All opinions are my own.

Chips Won't Melt, 4 bags lost - Very Disappointing

I wanted to make simple haystacks I have made before (melted choc chips, spanish p-nuts, chow mein noodles). I just ruined 4 bags of choc chips trying to get them to melt and not seize at 15sec at a time. What a waste of time and money for chips - and now I also have open bags of nuts & noodles and no more choc chips. Have used chips for baking for years with no problem - guess they just aren't good for melting on their own.

Can't celebrate the holidays without them

We've had a family tradition for over twenty years and we make chocolate chip cookies for the holidays. One day, I made the mistake of using a store brand and I never heard the end of it. My daughter: "What did you do different, mom? You're cookies don't taste that great this year. What did you do, over cook them?" "No," I replied, "I was in a hurry and I couldn't find the Toll House morsels, so I bought whatever they had." My three children replied in unison, "Toll house, mom, Toll house....." The following year; My son, "Oh, chocolate chip cookies!" He brings it up to his lips, pause then stares me straight in the eyes and ask, "Tool house?" I nod a yes. He smiles, gives me a wink and tastes a bites off a big chunk.
