The room is about 10 x 12 and is always sweltering in the Oklahoma heat. This room air conditioner was exactly what was needed. It was easy to install and it was small enough to fit the little window in the room yet puts out plenty of cold air. I have it set on 5 and Hi and the room is very comfortable now. Thanks to this Frigidaire FFRA0511R1 I no longer have to sweat buckets to do the laundry. Thanks Frigidaire.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm using this unit in a small 15x6 room. I'm using the low setting with the thermostat on the coldest temperature (#7) and my room is very cold. However, in the evening it gets too cold so I lower the thermostat one setting (#6) and for some reason it just can't keep up. The temperature is warmer than you would expect if you just lowered it by 1 setting. So, it's either freezing or it's not cool enough to be comfortable. But all in all, it's a great little AC unit which is also very quiet.

I currently live in LA in a very old hotel that was built in 1925 and it gets extremely hot in the room when I first put the air conditioner in they work fine beautifully now it's about a month and a half later I having trouble with it the knobs on it like they want to line up right and work properly and don't get me started on the vent circulation the way you have to move it I don't know because of my nerves difficult the 9constantly spits water I'm not happy with it

I've found Frigidaire appliances to work very well in the past, so I hope that holds up. I do have two complaints, however. (1) Filters should never come out to the side. Think about it: many people have rather deep windows. How am I supposed to pull the filter out and clean it without removing the air conditioner? Is it that hard to make the filter come out the front? (2) Why does this require such a wide window? The unit is 16" wide; what on earth does it need 7" of clearance for? It fits in narrower windows easily, though you have to cut the bracket. I realize I'm forfeiting the warranty this way (so I REALLY hope this unit holds up), but my windows are only about 22" wide: just shy enough that I have to cut about 1" off the bracket, but once in it's fine.

Our new Frigidaire is quiet, efficient and cools our bedroom faster than any other we have ever had. The simplicity of operating it and installing it make it one of our best ever purchases. We could not be more thrilled!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit cools exceptionally, however it runs constantly since there is no automatic thermostat to periodically shut the unit down when a selected temperature has been achieved. This makes for a costantly running unit with associated noise.

We needed a small unit for our kitchen. This particular unit is rated highly by Consumer Reports. Installation is a snap, no problems there. I am not a big fan of the "auger" rotation to control the air flow. I'm used to the older models where you can turn the air flow vents up or down. But for my purposes, this works. I would not recommend this for a bedroom where you might want to have more control over the air flow. It does cool of things very quickly, but very noisy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the A/C based on a variety of reviews. It is small but very loud. Even on high cool, it takes a long time to cool down a 10x10 ft room. And even then, it does not get cold. I'm disappointed in my purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Made it to replace the old AC in order to ensure comfort of recovering family member post surgery. This does the trick so well they have to turn it down at night because they get very cold. I've only given it four stars because I've only had it for less than 2 months so I would like to give room for any errors that may occur. That said the warranty plan was reasonably priced and if that does occur, we'll be covered.
