It makes no difference. Also, there is no way to move the air up or down. So, it freezes my head at night. When I go to bed.

So far I am very impressed with the temperature controls and power this ac puts out. My bedroom feels cool after just a few minutes of turning it on and it really cranks out an immense amount of air. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So everyone told me not to get this because living in NYC in an apt on the 2nd floor of a house tends to get HOT and humid, and they believed 5000BTU just wasn't going to cut it...but it does! My fiancé and I are not ones who need the room to be ice cold in the summer time, so in combination with our ceiling fan on, this thing cools down our modest sized living room and kitchen area. We keep the bedroom and bathroom door closed and it actually gets pretty chilly! We've had to turn it off a couple of times even when the temperature was 85+F and humid out there. I love it. The price is great and it doesn't hurt the electricity bill. Certainly glad I didn't listen to all the naysayers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The AC worked perfectly except for the Freeon smell. I sent it back to get changed and they sent me a replacement. Although the mew one is much better there is still a Freeon smell in my office whenever it is turned on.

I bought this 2 months ago and it stopped working after only a month. I tried contacting Frigidaire multiple times and eventually took the unit into one of the automated service's suggested repair shops. They said it was unit that couldn't be repaired and that Frigidaire had to replace. They gave me another phone number and said to make sure to speak to an actual customer service rep. I called multiple times and was hung up on by the automated machine each time. I've wasted entirely too much time and energy trying to get what I thought I was paying for.

Bought it ~1month ago. Using it to cool down our bedroom. The design of the directional control of the airflow is not very effective. It is pretty quiet from the outside, but on the inside the fan is pretty loud. Though this turned out to be a blessing in disguise - the constant drone of the fan overpowers the airplane noises we get starting at 5am...

Its good looking (as a/c units go) and compact in size and cools down quickly. The directional fins are great. They offer a lot of options to direct air flow. I haven't had this for very long and only used it a few times but I'm confident its going to do the trick for a long time.

Our new Frigidaire is quiet, efficient and cools our bedroom faster than any other we have ever had. The simplicity of operating it and installing it make it one of our best ever purchases. I just love my new air conditioner! I live in senior housing where the apartments are VERY small. This unit is perfect for the space. It is a bit noisier than I would like but that's most likely due to the small space. We're expecting a heat wave this week so AC will be most necessary.
