Use to but something has changed

I have purchased this bacon for years and my family and I love it. However, I just restocked my supply and I have to admit I am extremely disappointed in the 4 bags I recently purchased. The quality of the bacon is disappointing. Not as think and extremely greasy, I have never had to pat the grease off this bacon in the past. I have recommended this bacon to several friends and they are feeling the same, not the same quality. If you have changed something PLEASE change it back. Please bring back the thinker non-greasy bacon!!!!! At this time I would definitely not recommend this bacon to friends.

Disappointing recently

I've bought this for years because it's so quick and easy to use. But the last couple of boxes have been a different quality. The slices are almost totally white before cooking, indicating all fat - very little actual pork. They cook up crispy but curl into very small slices - they used to be flatter and pinker. Just wanted you to know.

convenience

I have been buying this product for YEARS- i love it , doesnt have to be refri. until opened, i keep 10 pkg on hand.. pre cooked- i heat it on the griddle as I cook my eggs - thin so that you can stack several pieces on toast or muffin, way less grease than pan frying, easy to carry for vac. - easy stack in the freezer, the other complaints are non founded... 72 slices- after cooking says 4# un cooked weight- minus the Grease !! love it...

I would buy again, but am concerned

Typically this product has been good, my husband uses for quick breakfast sandwiches almost daily. This morning I thought I might try it and had to open on of the new packages I bought on last weekend, it was gray and smelled rancid. It has the same date on the package as the other two I have..the other two look fine. Needless to say I'm tossing the rancid pack. Odd also is that the shelf life date/production code stamps are differently printed..could be the racide one came from a different processing plant/line. I would appreciate Hormel looking in to this.

Absolutely Fabulous!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family and I use this bacon on sandwiches and wrap it around roasts and add to chicken salad and other dishes!! We love it just to snack on!! We also love that there are flavors to choose from that add more flavor to my dishes.

Couldn't be happier! Cooking breakfast for the hubby at 4:30 am just got easier! Less mess, fat, sodium, and did I mention less mess?? I always baked bacon to shorten clean up time and to keep the slices flat but this is even better. No complaints about the price from me, it's actually a savings! Perfectly baked slices of bacon! Toss them in the oven or micro for a just a minute for extra crispiness!

Fair value

Never bought this brand, but i have bought Armour brand 2.2 oz gives 9-12 slices for ave price of 3.45 at local Weis, Giant. So 12 slices is .28 each. It taste good for quick BLT or with egg on muffin. But nothing beats cooking bacon on bacon wave's. I have used the bacon wave devices for years. I have bought reg bacon but prefer thick center cut for bacon wave. Regular bacon is ok. I buy this for my brother, but I like the 3 lb Kunzler that Sams sells for 9.77 = 3.25 per lb.. Great value

Yes I would definitely buy this again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried Hormel Bacon and made my special brown sugar bacon BLT sandwiches and ohhhh let me tell you they were delicious! The flavor of the bacon was incredible and gave the sandwich such a great favor. My choice for bacon from now on! Try it!

SO HANDY

We have a West Bend toaster that has an Egg Poacher on the side and a tray to warm the bacon as it cooks. So wonderful for a quick breakfast sandwich and no mess. Also like to chop it up and mix in with my deviled eggs which my husband loves. Not as much flavor as fresh cooked bacon but the convenience helps.

Great item, misleading reviews

I find the reviews a bit strange on this product. My club has this product at $9.78. Do 9.78/72 = ~14 cents a slice Meaning this product is not expensive, but quite inexpensive. If you take the argument that there is less of the bacon (which there is), and DOUBLE the amount of cooked bacon to compare to the raw bacon it's at ~28 cents. Compare that to the amount of bacon you can get per slice at your average grocery store, and you'll find the price to be anywhere from sam's being cheaper, to them being about the same, depending on the amount you buy. In short, compare apples to apples. You aren't making a fair comparison if you're comparing the weight of cooked bacon versus raw bacon to make a cost analysis. It IS a cooked bacon, and thus will not have the same flavor as regular raw bacon cooked in a pan, but that should be obvious. If you've been to a fast food joint, you'll probably recognize this flavor of bacon immediately.
