BACON BACON BACON

I have always purchased this bacon even when it was $7.50ish for 96 slices I believe. being on a high protein diet, I love to nuke 8-10 slices then roll it up in foil to take to my desk for lunch to eat with my protein shake.. good stuff! normally Ill burp up anything with MSG in it for hours and get bad heartburn and indigestion later. Most of the thick (regular non-cooked) bacon will do this every time to me, but this stuff I never do. it is on the thinner side of strips, but doesn't bother me since it takes it less time to get crispy.. AND always tastes great! all other pre-cooked brands (boars head, oscar myer, etc) doesn't compare and this one is priced better. BJs sells a similar style (same hormel black label brand) but sams has the better ziplock package with a better price.. so eat it up!

Nasty and not able to eat

Have bought this for years however this time when opening bacon had a burned smell and really dark brown as if burned. Made a BLT. Sandwich and couldn't hardly stand the taste! Needless the rest of the bacon is still in freezer. Not sure after reading reviews if If I will purchase again or not. Some are really gross reviews

Best fully cooked bacon EVER!

This is the best fully cooked pre packaged bacon I have ever had. We use it for everything from breakfast and salads to baked beans and potato salad. I was very disappointed to find out my local Sams did not carry it anymore. Hopefully they change their minds so I don't have to drive 35 miles to the next closest Sam's club to shop.

So convenient & excellent value

This is so convenient! Excellent value, a precooked pack at the local grocery store is $4 and ONLY has 8 or 10 slices in it. The price keeps going up though, I bought 4 packs 2 mths ago and it was like $10.47 a pack, then I went back 2 wks ago and bought 2 packs and it was like $12.64 a pack and today (approx 2 wks later) I went to pick up 4 more packs and noticed the price went up yet again to $15.22 a pack, so it has went up almost $5 per pack in 2 months, but for how many pieces you get, which is 72 for $15.22 it is still well worth it.

Convienient but bland

After reading reviews here as well as a suggestion in a book, I tried this. Yes, it is convenient however I found the taste very bland. I much prefer the taste of bacon I cook myself and then refrigerate for later. My way is messier and more time consuming, but I eat less because the flavor is more satisfying. Wish I liked it.

Excellent

I have always liked this product and have used for at least a year or two. The last batch had more fat on it and to me that is way better. Makes it taste much better when you microwave it - you just cook it a little linger. Some packages with no fat on were still good but not as good as this batch. The fat also seems to absorb the energy better causing the bacon to get hot in the microwave better.

not until this complaint is addressed

I have been buying this product for years and you are getting sloppier and sorrier about the strips being folded over and therefore not coming out evenly cooked. Have recommended this product to many folks including retail food businesses. but not anymore until you have informed me of a change. I is very tasty, very tender, crispy and not brittle, BUT I don't like my bacon curled or stuck to itself!

Good bacon, poor packaging

Good bacon, I wasn't disappointed with the flavor one bit. I was however very concerned about how it was packaged because it just shipped in an envelope type package. There was no guarantee of it being kept frozen or cold during shipping. It turned out to be just fine but I would urge Walmart to package it differently for shipping.

Great item, misleading reviews

I find the reviews a bit strange on this product. My club has this product at $9.78. Do 9.78/72 = ~14 cents a slice Meaning this product is not expensive, but quite inexpensive. If you take the argument that there is less of the bacon (which there is), and DOUBLE the amount of cooked bacon to compare to the raw bacon it's at ~28 cents. Compare that to the amount of bacon you can get per slice at your average grocery store, and you'll find the price to be anywhere from sam's being cheaper, to them being about the same, depending on the amount you buy. In short, compare apples to apples. You aren't making a fair comparison if you're comparing the weight of cooked bacon versus raw bacon to make a cost analysis. It IS a cooked bacon, and thus will not have the same flavor as regular raw bacon cooked in a pan, but that should be obvious. If you've been to a fast food joint, you'll probably recognize this flavor of bacon immediately.

Disappointing Texture

I usually purchase the 36 thick cut naturally hardwood smoked bacon, which takes 15 seconds to cook a slice. I microwave it for 30 seconds for my desired crispness. I just purchased the Fully cooked original bacon with 72 slices. The packaging says to cook for 10 seconds. I heated two slices for 30 seconds and the bacon was limp. I cooked another strip for 45 seconds, 1 min, and 1.5 min and it did not crisp. By the time I reached the desired texture it took 2.min, the bacon shriveled to around half of its original size, only half of the shriveled strip was crispy, and my microwavable plate broke. Also the flavor, although different, was not as good as usual.
