Vizio M558-G1

Awesome tv. Beautiful picture. But.. 2 problems i had that made me return it. 1. Low sound but not a huge problem being i have a sound bar from when i had n still use the vizio 3D tv (forget model #). 2. The real problem is that the tv would shut off n reboot on its own. It wasnt the auto off because it would turn back on. It did this randomly. Also.. It would somehow lose connections with the hdmi ports and to get It back id have to change inputs on the remote and change back. That was really annoying. I tried everything from resetting the tv.. To power cycle. Nothing worked. Aside from that tho.. Great tv. I wish i had it back and working properly.

Great tv

Works great for gaming and the picture is awesome. The vizio smartcast can be difficult sometimes, but I would definitely recommend this product. If you want super-saturated colors, crisp picture, and low latency for gaming, then this is the tv for you.

Great Buy!

I am delighted with this TV. It's hard to imagine a better picture at this price. In the "Calibrated" mode colors are vibrant, contrast and black levels are very good, and detail is excellent. I love watching movies without that "soap opera" effect seen in other sets at this price.

A Great Super Smart TV!

I've only had this TV for a few days but so far, it seems like the most elegant and advanced TV I've ever had. It is loaded with features, the picture is fantastic and even the built-in speakers are about as good as my expensive Bose speaker bar. My living room is small, so watching it almost feels like being in a movie theater. For the quality of this unit, the price was great.

Disappointed

I did hours of shopping for the best bang for my buck - not the cheapest, not the bells and whistles - and I am disappointed. My last TV was a 1080p Vizio from 2008 and it still works great. That TV was not a smart TV. Apparently, “smart” means that it takes 10 seconds to turn on, has an interface that leaves lots to be desired, and it will often crash and reboot while navigating and sometimes there are horizontal white lines that appear at random and then it glitches while streaming some shows on Prime but not others. I adjusted some settings after seeing others having the same issues and that fixed the problem but in my mind. The bottom line is the display is great, the speakers are weak, and the streaming sucks. In 5 years the TV's hardware won't even be capable of keeping up with what is being streamed by Netflix/Hulu/Prime/Disney and I will have to rely on a 3rd party device and that is why I was not a fan of TV/DVD combos in the past and why I am not a fan of “smart” TVs now.

Great when it works… but it isn't

Ever since the last update my SmartCast has stopped working all together. I can't access any of the apps not even by activating the apps thru the SmartCast app. I get sufficient speeds for streaming 4k on all my other TVs except this one. The worse part is no response from Vizio on when they will fix the issue and apparently it's getting worse. I used to have to reboot my TV to get it to work before but now it just doesn't work at all no matter what you try. Please fix the TVs or I cannot change my review. Works fine with my PlayStation 4 and I can stream on there but defeats the purpose of having a 4k TV that cannot steam anything in 4k. Have even tried to hook it up with Ethernet and still nothing.

Great Picture, But....

I bought this TV based on reviews and Vizio's reputation. This TV has an awesome picture. However, the "Smart" part of this smart TV really sucks! TV randomly reboots, turns on by itself, and not to mention there are very few channel apps available. No Disney+ (still), no Sling, No Fubo, and the list just goes on. If I would have known this was going to ba an issue I would have bought another brand.

Hello MichaelPHX, this television allows you to cast chromecast enabled apps such as Sling TV and Disney+ also you should have recently received an update adding Disney+ to the SmartCast input. If you do not have this app please reach out to our customer support at 877-878-4946 so that we can address this and your other concerns on the television restarting and turning on.

Overall a very good quality TV for the price.

Overall a very good quality product against competition s like Samsung and LG. Picture quality is excellent overall, but HDR brightness is just decent. The Smartcast OS is a little lacking and a bit slow compare to competition. This is about a 4.5 stars rating for the first 6 weeks.

VIZIO M658-G1 may be the best choice for the money

Brighter then most others, took me a little while to figure out how to keep it from turning on by itself. Build quality seems really good, have seen better blacks and whites but that was on TV's costing 3 or 4 times as much. I highly recommend used a line conditioning surge protector intermittent spikes of current can easily damage your TV.

Great all around

I have wanted a big tv for a while now and doing just a small amount of research lead me to this one. For the amazing price of this tv it definitely delivers on quality and charm. The many hdmi inputs and ease of access make it easy to install and the colors and refresh rate for my video gaming is top notch. I would like a better more responsive programable remote but that's all i can really complain about thus far.
