Nice picture

I bought this model back in March to replace a TV from a different brand that broke after 2 months of use. I really love the quality of the picture since I use it for console gaming and being able to cast videos from my phone. Sound quality is good for me and I don't have use for a sound bar since my living room is small. The remote is easy to use and solid construction with good click response but I do with the button placement was a bit easier to use with one hand. Overall, a great TV

Vizio M558-G1

Awesome tv. Beautiful picture. But.. 2 problems i had that made me return it. 1. Low sound but not a huge problem being i have a sound bar from when i had n still use the vizio 3D tv (forget model #). 2. The real problem is that the tv would shut off n reboot on its own. It wasnt the auto off because it would turn back on. It did this randomly. Also.. It would somehow lose connections with the hdmi ports and to get It back id have to change inputs on the remote and change back. That was really annoying. I tried everything from resetting the tv.. To power cycle. Nothing worked. Aside from that tho.. Great tv. I wish i had it back and working properly.

Disappointed

I did hours of shopping for the best bang for my buck - not the cheapest, not the bells and whistles - and I am disappointed. My last TV was a 1080p Vizio from 2008 and it still works great. That TV was not a smart TV. Apparently, “smart” means that it takes 10 seconds to turn on, has an interface that leaves lots to be desired, and it will often crash and reboot while navigating and sometimes there are horizontal white lines that appear at random and then it glitches while streaming some shows on Prime but not others. I adjusted some settings after seeing others having the same issues and that fixed the problem but in my mind. The bottom line is the display is great, the speakers are weak, and the streaming sucks. In 5 years the TV's hardware won't even be capable of keeping up with what is being streamed by Netflix/Hulu/Prime/Disney and I will have to rely on a 3rd party device and that is why I was not a fan of TV/DVD combos in the past and why I am not a fan of “smart” TVs now.

It's ok - lot of money for what it is

I bought this TV a few months ago. I have had to reset it a couple of times already. I cannot connect my blue tooth to it, which it my fault for not noticing that before I purchased it but I assumed for the money that would be an option. I just don't think it is as easy to use as the Sony I have in my bedroom. If I had to do it again, I would buy another one like that. Which is a surprise as I usually am happy with all of my VIzio purchases.

Could be so much better

We bought this one a month ago to replace our Vizio that failed after only three years. It appears to be the best choice among a weak field of competition. The picture is fine but the sound is sub par and the remote is terrible. Just like its predecessor, it likes to turn itself on by itself at times and also will change inputs by itself ... forcing us to use their horrible remote to change it back to its normal selection.

Great picture, easy to set up

I love all the feratures of my 65 inch Vizio. It was very easy to set it up and hook up my sound bar and works flawless with my Firestick. I haven't used the smarttv apps cause of the other streaming gadget but I lke the controls and adjustmentsto fine-tune the TV to what is needed.

Vertical pixel failures after only 2 years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very sad. The picture was great for just under 2 years. Then, I woke up to turn it on and find a 2 pixel wide line from top to bottom. Other TVs I've had over the last 10 years have lasted 4-5 years.

Great features for the money.

I love the HDR and Airplay integration. Really good deep blacks, which is not common in a TV so inexpensive. Works great for gaming as well as it seems the input lag is low. The only thing I wish it had is a 120hz refresh rate, but for the money, I'm more than happy with the TV and features.

Amazing and vivid picture

I shopped specifically for this model because of the 600 nits of brightness and the 90 dimming zones. The picture is amazing, and it costs a lot less than similar TVs, especially OLED. While this is not OLED, it comes the closest to any I've seen, and at a huge savings. The free apps are good, and it has a ton of them. It also lets us use Airplay to sling any device's screen right up to the TV -iPhone, iPad, computer, etc. This unit doesn't have a camera or microphone, which I view as a huge plus for maintaining our privacy and security, as well.

Good... very good. Not great.

I bought this tv after reading reviews, and reviews of its competitors. I even watched reviews and demos on Youtube. While the colors and motion do look very good, I was disappointed at some aspects. The blooming on this TV is pretty bad. The grayscaling (not sure if that's what you call it) is pretty bad too. On the PROS side, gaming looks awesome. Live sports looks awesome. Movies look awesome. Sound is not bad as well. If you like your TVs with super bright, super vivid, oversaturated colors, you may not like this TV. If you like your TVs with true, accurate colors, then this TV is great, specially for the price point. To be fair, I have not calibrated the TV yet (because I don't know now), so I'm sure I could squeeze more performance out of it.
