Buy this TV if you great value for features/colors

I love M Series M8 TV. This tv does it all gaming, movies, photos, and karaoke. My only issue is with the speakers being really low volume. I love all the built in gaming features HDR10/10 /Dolby Vision/HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM, AMD Freesync, and more. The TV gets 600 to 800 nits and the quantum color work perfectly for true color. So I went to get a sound bar now its like those $2000 TVs maybe even better. I put this TV up against TCL/Hisense/LG models and this Vizio beat them at price/features/wide color gamut. Full Array Local dimming.

Very happy with my purchase. No buyer's remorse.

Full array LED backlight with 90 local dimming zones makes the image really pop. Plus the 4 HDMI ports gives me the flexibility I wanted.

Disappointed.

The new TV smell became an electronic hot smell. The interfaces stopped working. Walmart takes too long in issuing refunds to your credit card. I won't shop here again.

reply from VIZIO

Hello Donna, new televisions may produce an unusual smell or odor when first turned on. This is due in part to the manufacturing process of components. Some of the electronic components are "coated" to prevent corrosion during their journey from the manufacturer to the home. When those components heat up for the first couple of times, depending on how long you leave the device on, an odor can occur. This smell is not harmful to your health and it will dissipate usually between 10 days and 2 weeks and not return. This is normal and occurs with virtually all consumer electronics.

This is a great budget TV.

We purchased the m55q8-h1 from walmart because most other retailers carry the Q7. This TV is better. It has brighter backlights for HDR content and more zone for deeper blacks. While, this definitely is a budget TV its a pretty good one. Also, this TV supports Apple AirPlay, which allows us to stream content from our phones and computers. A nice plus.

Have reservations

We have had several problems from the beginning. After setup there was no sound on hdmi setting when turned on. Came on after switching to smart tv programs and returned to hdmi the sound came on. The next day the screen would not come on. After trying numerous efforts to get it to come on. I unplugged the power supply and it appears to be working now. But I still have reservations as to weather to return the set. The picture is not as sharp as advertised. I had a V series and the M is supposed be 80% sharper. This set is not.

Not worth the money

This tv is fine for those that dont need great specs and that dont have much money to spend but youd be better off investing a couple hundred more into something better. The standard settings on this made the blacks look faded grey, red looked bright orange, and everything else was blurry. I spent hours trying to modify the settings and nothing would work as well as Sony X900H or the LG 85 series. The remote is terrible. For every click there was a 1-2 second delay in response time so navigating screens and apps was not very pleasant. Apps regularly crashed or wouldnt load. When I turned my Xbox off and tried to switch to the built in Hulu app the tv would freeze EVERY TIME. The only fix for it was to unplug the tv and sign back in. Perhaps there will be an update to correct these issues since the tv model just came to my Walmart on aug 6, but I didnt want to gamble that so I took it back and got a refund and purchased the Sony X900H instead

Sadly disappointed

I read the reviews and this was suppose to be one of the best 55" tvs. I'm sadly disappointed that it isn't the case for us. The viewing angle is not good. It is fine straight on but the way my living room is set up, the picture fades out from one side of the couch to the other. I'm also having trouble with the volume button, sometimes it works, but most of the time is a delay of a few seconds . Maybe I got a lemon but I will be returning this TV.

Great TV!

This is a great tv with a great picture and good value when you look at the features. The only drawbacks are that the sound doesn't project well (compensate with a sound bar) and the brightness is lacking for my apartment (my apartment has very large industrial windows and is very bright). Personally with the PS5 and new Xbox coming out I wish it had a 120hz refresh rate (since both support it) considering the tv boasts the "pro gaming engine"

video great! audio... meh

video quality is great, it's part of why I chose this television, but after setup the audio quality is a bit lacking. I have the TV turned up to 70 and I can barely hear it, my old TV I could have it set to 20 and hear it perfectly. so I'm still toggling those settings, but I am very happy with my purchase otherwise.
