I would not recommend this brand

It's so disappointing when a manufacturer puts a mileage guarantee on these tires when they are new and you are paying a premium price. I have a 2015 E350 which I baby the car and drive like the little old lady from Pasadena! The tires on the front of my car need to be replaced after only 12000 miles. I've always had great luck with Michelin. and will spend a large amount of money to replace all four tires to get these Continentals off my car. I wish Continental would make good on these tires which a lot of manufacturers put on the car, probably because of cost efficiency, but they suck at the end of the day..

Please note, Real-world treadwear will vary based on driving habits, vehicle maintenance and local road condition. As long as the tires are evenly worn, and rotated on scheduled, (the vehicle manufacturer recommends every 5,000 miles), the place you purchased the tires from should be able to process a pro-rata exchange. Should your dealer have a question, we can be reached Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM ET, at 1-800-847-3349. The dealer should reference web inquiry# $incidents.ref_no when they call. https://continentaltire.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/848

Not a very good tire

Poor tread life, 26,000 miles and 2 years of driving. Not good in snow at all. Very poor traction.

Poor wear on Tires

I also have Continental 225/45R18 95H PRO GX SSR tires which came with my 2020 Mercedes C300. After only 11,000 miles I need to replace the front two tires as they are at the tread wear line, This is highway driving, I cant understand the terrible wear. I would not recommend these tires to anyone!!

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about your experience with our tires on your vehicle. Please note, the New Vehicle Tire Warranty covers tires for 72 months from the date of purchase or until they wear down to 2/32" of tread remaining, whichever comes first. Once the tread reaches 2/32", the warranty ends. However, if your front tires are evenly worn down to 2/32” and you have records of a tire rotations at 6,000 miles, your dealer can contact our office for assistance. We’re available Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM ET, at 1-800-847-3349.

Good Tread Life, But …

These were original equipment on our GLB250. Two of the tires have about 40,000 miles on them and are still not to the wear bars. However, the other 2 had to be replaced at about 35,000 miles because Continental does not recommend repairing a nail puncture no matter where it is or how small, even if the tire is not driven on while deflated. Buying a compact spare would have been less expensive than replacing the 2 that would have been repairable if they had not been run flat tires.

Terrible tires for a Mercedes

These tires came on my 2022 C300 and after 20,000 Miles, the dealership tells me that the rear tires are cupped. No structural damage to the car and they are not sure why this happened. Tires have been rotated, balanced, and aligned on every scheduled maintenance. Also, the road noise is extremely loud and has been since day one. I don not recommend this tire for a Mercedes C300. Will be switching to a new brand shortly and will make sure to never buy a car that comes with these period.

Sapphire '20 C43 AMG (Mercedes Benz)
3 out of 5 stars review

I would probably buy a different tire when the time comes.

I bought my '20 Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG sedan in May and it is now the last day of August. The tread depth indicator shows .301 to .302 (front and rear) inches of tread on my tires after 2,760 miles. I use a digital tread depth measuring tool and a digital air pressure gauge. I keep the tire pressures exactly as the manufacturer specifies. They are checked and adjusted weekly if needed. I use nitrogen in my tires which is an inert gas. It is said that nitrogen stays in tires better than just air (which is itself mostly composed of nitrogen). So far, the tires are responsive, very grippy, and confident in the rain. Not very quiet on most road surfaces, however, the main thing I can hear is the quad tailpipes of my AMG sport exhaust. I put the window down and listen to the tires as the car is coasting. I am a spirited driver and love twisty country roads. These tires have allowed me to experience the fun and exhilaration my car was designed for. After reading all the poor reviews, I don't expect to get more than 20,000 miles. If so, I won't be upset because I've already begun shopping (and saving) for my next set of tires. The Continental ProContact Gx SSR communicate every bump in the road to the driver but not in an overly harsh way. I have the staggered fit, 18-inch AMG five-spoke wheels with the all-season tires, and the car weighs almost 3900 pounds (curb weight). I avoid potholes like they are landmines. My driving is a mix of suburban and highway. No snow/ice or temperatures less than 60 degrees F yet. I am going to have tires rotated/balanced and the alignment checked at 3,000 miles. Due to my research, I believe there are tires on the market that can deliver similar handling characteristics and offer more treadwear so I probably buy a different tire when the time comes. I will update my review with every scheduled rotation. (next one at 5,000 miles). Be safe but have fun!

2014 Subaru Outback Premium.

These tires came on our 2014 Subaru Outback Premium. Only 30,000 miles on them and they needed replaced. My wife lost control in the rain going 15 miles an hour around a curve. Thank God she knows how to drive and didn't wreck. On dry pavement they're pretty decent, but they wear very poorly and the side walls are very week and soft. I put Hankook Optimo on her car. I highly recommend them. They've been on our Buick LeSabre for a year now and still look brand new. Handles wonderfully in all weather conditions

I would not buy this product again

I have had my Mercedes 2018 C300 for 17,034 miles, I bought new. I took it for maintenance a couple of weeks ago and was told that my back tires only have less than 2,000 miles life left in them. If that is true, these are very poor quality tires as I am not a fast driver and I keep and maintain all my assets in excellent condition.

The New Vehicle Tire Warranty is for 72 months from the date of purchase or until the tires are worn down to 2/32"; whichever, comes first. Once the tires reach 2/32", the New Vehicle Tire Warranty ends. Although excluded, you can return to the place of purchase to have your tires inspected for consideration outside the New Vehicle Tire Warranty. The tires need to be evenly worn down to 2/32" or less, with records of tire rotation every 6,000 miles. Since this is not a warrantable issue, the dealer will need to contact our office for help. We can be reached Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM ET, at 1-800-847-3349.

Absolutely Brilliant OEM Tire on Jaguar XE

These tires (non-run flat) came OE on my 2017 Jaguar XE. These are 225/45R18's in 'J' version. I have found the GX's excellent in wet or dry conditions with superb handling, quiet ride, and tight turn-in. Great for mundane work-and-back, more than capable if I want to smile on some deserted mountain roads, and a very predictable tire. (I have no experience in snow, as we only see that a few times a year here and I keep this Cat parked for those occasions. ) For those looking for a 50k mile tire, I'll say that at ~27k miles, they were worn to about 4mm tread depth. After much research and thought, they were replaced with the exact same tires...on this car, they're that impressive to me and for how I use this vehicle. It is important to note, as said above, that the tires I have experience with are all the 'Jaguar-approved' version with the 'J' stamp - I can verify the compound, based on fingertip feel, is a bit softer than the non-OEM retail version. Other OEM's are probably different, as well...you mileage may vary, quite literally! All the above being said, I don't want a tire to last 50k miles on my cars if the compromise is a reduction of 'smile factor' when driving spirited or extra stopping distance in an emergency situation. There is a trade-off in everything in life...tires are one of those things I don't try and economize too much. They matter that much.
