awesome tire

Continental ProContact GX came original OEM with my 2014 2.5i Outback Premium. The tires have 48,000 miles on them. Rotated every oil change. They have just under 50% tread life on them. Driven on Chicago streets 10% the other 90% on the highway. Tire pressure kept at recommended levels per sticker on vehicle. The tires tracked true on the highway with zero steering play. In the snow, from just a dusting to 2 plus feet, they were awesome. From hot summer to sub-zero driving these tires always felt connected to the road. Tires went to the Colorado Mountains and through the deep south, no issues. My Subaru maintained at dealer for all recommended service requirements. I am replacing current tires with OEM for the winter snow and keeping the the original tires for the summer.

I bought my chevrolet trax 2016 with continental tires on it, and im running about 70k km now. But still in good shape! Great performance on wet season and on sharp curves.

Poor Tread Life

Tires were supposed last 65K. They wore out at 32K. I drive a 2014 2.5i Outback very modestly and am very surprised by the poor tread life. The tire life was so poor not sure that they were new when I bought my car. Worst tire life I have experienced on a car in decades given the type of tire.

Harsh riding!

Vehicle = 2013 Subaru 2.5 limited. I replaced the Coni Procontact with the Porcontacyt GX. The problem I'm seeing is that the GX version has a harder ride. It transmits the cracks and expansion joints as if my tires are overinflated. Yes I checked the pressure many times.

All Continental brand passenger and LT tires bearing the Continental name and DOT numbers are covered by the 60 Day Customer Satisfaction Trial. If for any reason, other than an excluded condition listed under Section 4, you are not satisfied with your new set of four tires within 60 days from date of purchase or the first 2/32nds of an inch (whichever comes first) you may exchange all or any one of them for a corresponding number of the same tires or for another set of a different type of Continental brand tires.

Horrible so far with only 5000 miles on them!

These came on my new vehicle. I have been to the dealership 5 times for balancing. At 2,500 miles they finally replaced 2 of the 4 tires due to their inablity to "balance the tires within their specs". I still have vibrations in the vehicle and it just rolled over 5000 miles and I am being told all of it has to do with these tires. I am very unhappy with these tires and with what I have read about tread life, doesn't look like it will change.

MB dealer says I shouldn't leave the shop @31k mi

I took my 2016 Mercedes C300 all wheel drive (they should wear more evenly) with 31K on it to the dealer for an oil change and they told me my front tires are well beyond recommend tread and below the indicator. They can't be rotated due to the staggered rim. The rear have marginal left. These are extremely expensive tires. This is the worst tire I have ever experienced.

Thank you for taking the tire to review our tires. We recommend requesting a tread depth measurement, to confirm the tires are evenly worn down to 2/32" of useable tread remaining.

Very Disappointed

Sadly, I do not recommend these tires. I have 28,000 miles and I was told by the mercedes service department and by Les Schwab that the tires need to be replaced. This is ridiculous that they need to be replaced already. I am not hard on my tires or car. As a matter of fact, I am a cautious driver. These Continentals should have lasted much longer.

There are many factors that contribute to the wear of the tires. Because driving habits and conditions vary it is impossible to predict the exact life of your tires. While tires sold in the replacement market may carry a treadwear warranty, this is not a rating of tire life, it is just the terms of the product warranty. For original equipment tires, the warranty coverage is 72 months 72 months from the date of purchase for workmanship; however, product use, (treadwear), is excluded. Although treadwear is not covered under the new vehicle tire warranty, if the tires are evenly worn down to 2/332" of tread remaining, with proof of tire rotation every 6,000 miles, we can assist you outside the terms of the warranty.

Replacing after only 24,000 miles

I wish the dealership would have told me that the tires that came on my 2016 C300 had to different sizes and I would have never bought this car. I am now replacing tires after only 24,000 miles which I think is unheard of unless you race your cars which I do not

Thank you for your providing a review of the ProContact. Unfortunately, tires installed on vehicles using a staggered tire size cannot be rotated; reducing the overall tire life. We do not offer a mileage warranty on new vehicle tires; however, if your tires are evenly worn down to 2/32" of tread remaining, (1.6 mm), we can work with your vehicle dealer to offer a pro rata exchange. Since this is outside the product warranty, your dealer will need to contact our office. We are available Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM ET, at 1-800-847-3349.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. Please keep in mind that the new vehicle tire warranty excludes product use, (treadwear). However, if the tires are evenly worn down to 2/32", with proof of tire rotation every 6,000 miles, the dealer will need to contact our office with their inspection for help Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Est. at 800-847-3349.

UGGHHH!!! Had to replace at only 24,700 miles

I have had too many new cars to count and have driven too many miles to say. I take excellent care of my autos, which includes regular tire rotation and checking the air pressure frequently. These tires were original to my 2014 Subaru Outback 3.6. I have never had a car where the new tires only lasted 24,700 miles. My kids have Hyundais and they have over 50,000 miles on their Kumho Solus KL21 tires. I rec'd no help from Subaru nor Continental Customer Service. I was told by Continental they only warranty replacement tires. The warranty on the same tire I paid for with my new car gets a 6 yr/65,000 mile waranty if purchased as a replacement. Does that make sense to anyone? Something is fishy. Are the tires substandard that are put on new cars - either specified by the auto manufacturer or deliberately provided this way by the tire manufacturer?
